OK, granted, it is the end of a work day and I am tired.  But riddle me this:  Last year there were 14 playoff teams.  He says 6 of them will miss the playoffs this year, leaving 8 to repeat.  Then there will be 5 new playoff teams.

If 6 of last year's playoff teams miss, unless they are reducing the field by a team, do there not need to be 6 new playoff teams to replace them?

Or do I need a drink more than I think I do?

OK, he listed 6 new teams but said there were 5.

I was going to further my morbid curiosity by seeing which conference was missing a team, thinking it might give the Panthers one less barrier on their playoff run.  But, alas, both conferences have 7 teams based on his list.

Now I can have that drink to celebrate having solved this great mystery.

Because heavy rains are predicted in the Charlotte area throughout the weekend, the organization will be painting the lines for both sporting events — soccer lines in yellow and football lines in white — on the artificial surface before the weekend.mls.jpeg.7cf37e0d1ff340dbc303e207c8e3c3bd.jpeg

Based on the weather forecast, lines for the Charlotte FC Saturday match and Carolina Panthers Sunday opener have to be painted prior to the weekend to ensure that the markings needed to play both games will be in place before the rain. Following the Charlotte FC match, the yellow MLS lines will be removed.

Our run D

My fear is that this game is similar to last years game against Washington. Where they simply ran the ball down our throats.

For all the talk about Burns sack numbers/finishing plays, he’ll need to show that he isn’t a liability against the run

This. Watch Jacoby throw less than ten passes. Chubb is going to eat up the interior.

I had to fears when Charlotte and Tepper got a soccer team.

1) Artificial turf

2) Lines from both sport on the same time making the field look like an amateur stadium.
