I didn't want the Panthers built this way. I didn't want to be this far into Rhule's era starting a rookie LT. The o-line should have been the FIRST thing we built. NOT that defense. O-line FIRST. Defense later. We did it backwards.

We can’t stop the run and we can’t rush the passer without blitzing.

Which is the biggest problem I have with our roster. We have no guys who consistently disrupt the pass game without assistance. I am not worried about the offense. Once a few more weeks go by that will settle in. Its the lack of sacks and run stuffs that bother me.

I think the O will remain an issue too overall.

Rhule has never seen good offense.  McAdoo's was run out of the league once he showed what he would do unmanaged with an offense.   Our OL still isn't solid.  And Baker is hit or miss.  Better than what we have but he isn't really an elevator of those around him.   I expect good days and bad days.  But I don't see anything consistent about our O even after they settle in.

10 caries one a TD plunge and three under two minutes remaining.....

Objectively his YPC wasn't bad especially earlier when he should have been utilized.

his best carry on the day was a fumbled shotgun/pass snap too.   It wasn't even a run play.

I'm well aware.... it's no excuse not to make them account for him, they didn't use him to dictate matchups either best receiving back of the generation and they ran three plays up the gut with him to start and finish, why no motion? Why wasn't he lining up in the slot to get him the ball in space? Or at the very least make the Browns account for him.

I think 20 touches is about right. The playcalling just made it look worse. We should have come out running, not passing. Work the passing game in slowly after that. Use CmC early, then rotate heavy and have him ready for the end of the first half. Just more poor scheming and playcalling. We need better coaches.

Rhule has no idea how to handle CMC. They just give him the ball all game or forget who he is and treat him like some average running back. No lick of strategy, no using him as a decoy or a checkdown, just vibes.

We have the most versatile offensive weapon in football and our coaches have no clue what do with him. Another all-time talent whose career is wasting away under inept leadership in Carolina.

well, it's just beating the same dead horse.  Everyone knows the why.  Even the people who get their kicks acting like Matt Rhule isn't the primary issue in Carolina.  We aren't well coached.   That's the answer to the why.

Jesus H Christ people this is our 4th preseason game, just this one counted. You gotta ease him back in. This was a great game for the limited amount of time these guys have been together.  Let's wait till the Giants game before we burn this bitch down

They didnt even try to run in the first quarter.  That goes a bit beyond "easing him back in"

    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
    • Bingo. The dude is a baller no doubt and I'd love to have him in a vacuum but like you said he's gonna fetch a haul so the only teams it really makes sense for are teams with an overall good roster who they feel an edge rusher like Crosby would out them over the top in terms of competing for SBs. I'd be looking st teams like the Pats, Bucs, Ravens, Seahawks, etc. It wouldn't be shocking to see him moved. He may be more valuable to a rebuilding team in the form of the draft assets he'd fetch than he is on the field. He should still have several more good years in the tank at 28 but by the time the Raiders can reasonably expect to rebuild he's gonna be on the decline.
