Because he had to hire somebody and McAdoo was one of the few guys that was interested.

I don't really think Rhule's thought process goes deeply enough to ask the questions you're asking here.

Yea I can't even be mad at the McAdoo hire.  No decent coach was going to come in and work for a lame duck head coach.  The writing is on the wall for Rhule and the only person that hasn't seen that is Tepper.

It was supposed to be a rock star.

I think someone else called it a cover band.

Thats funny but I wouldn't even give him that much credit.  A good cover band can execute someone else's musical composition in a competent way.  McAdoo's offense is more like a crappy garage band that can't even play in time together.

Of Matt Rhule's 10 wins, only 2 have come against teams that finished the year with a winning record. 2021 over Arizona (no Murray, finished 11-6), and 2021 over New Orleans (displaced by hurricane, finished 9-8).

2020 wins: LAC (7-9), ARZ (8-8), ATL (4-12), DET (5-11), WFT (7-9)

2021 wins: NYJ (4-13), NOS (9-8), HOU (4-13), ATL (7-10), ARZ (11-6)

I think it was on The Roar that a Giants media guy said that even though they were 11-5 and Eli had 30+ TDs but they benefited from an easy schedule and a lot of close wins they should of lost.
The when they went up against real competition the McAdoo offense fell apart. Like the Giants vs Packers playoff game.
McAdoo hire never made sense.

So you are telling me he has never beaten real competition like in college?

    • This team once again got tunnel vision on one guy. This might be my biggest issue with the trade. It points to the same behavior that led us to drafting the fewest prospects in the league over the past 3 years. They need to let the draft come to them and stop chasing ‘their guys’.
    • Hopefully legette pick will put Mingo on notice
    • Buffalo was in need of a WR, and after Pearsall was drafted, the Panthers may have figured that a team needing a WR (like the Panthers, for example) could trade up with Buffalo to get the fifth year option at the end of the first round.  Look at the teams picking early in the second round and look at the big board.  There is going to be a run on WRs.  This not only provided the Panthers with the fifth-year option, but it assured them that nobody was going to deal with Buffalo, and Buffalo was not going to take Legette.  So Bean decided to upgrade his day three sixth rounder to a fifth, and Morgan got his guy and the fifth year option.  Win Win.  Obviously Buffalo was open for business, so if you consider the fact that Buffalo might have been getting calls for the pick, Morgan switched places with Buffalo.  It is likely that Buffalo did not want to drop farther than 33, so they dealt with Carolina--dealing with anyone else would risk losing Mitchell, the guy they probably covet (or Ladd).  The ONLY team who was assured they are not going to lose their guy is Buffalo.  I am not sure this deal goes down unless Morgan tells Bean who he was going to take and that Beane trusted Morgan's word.  After pick 33.... Pick 34.  New England needs a receiver. Pick 36.  Washington needs a receiver. Pick 37.  Chargers need multiple receivers. Pick 44.  Raiders need a receiver. Pick 45. Saints need a receiver. The NFL Draft ESPN Big board for "Best Remaining" Players features 3 Wide Receivers in the next 7 picks.  I am guessing that Buffalo wants Mitchell, and when the Panthers decided to go with Legette, they were willing to deal.
