obviously not but for the most part when you draft a qb in the first you want a vet to help guide them.  See Josh allen and derek anderson.  I dont think  you will find many examples of first round pick getting backed up by a qb drafted the previous year.  Especially a developmental one and coming off serious injury.  Look what happened to mond this year

I could see there being 3 QBs bc of this EXACT situation.

yes he will. Cheap backup QB.

I think he stays. It’s basically like grabbing another rookie QB in the 3rd this year to compete/backup the first rounder. Kind of like a RG3, Cousins scenario. He will at least hang around until final cuts to try to stash on the practice squad IMO.

but you know he would bring in someone... thats crazy talk if you think otherwise. He hasnt shown any behavior for either the MLS or NFL team on making decisions in a silo. He even bragged that he hires experts to make decisions.

Why didn't he do it last time?

Why did he specifically state that he didn't need to?

Im confused what you are asking me here... Are you asking me what were Tepper's internal thoughts when he did lean on experts to help him find a HC/Manager?

Unless you're framing Marty Hurney and Steven Drummond as "experts", he didn't.

And when asked about it, Tepper said he didn't need help from anybody outside the organization.

“It’ll be primarily by the organization,” he said. “That doesn’t mean I won’t have a couple people I will listen to. If I talk to a couple of my fellow owners about different things, it doesn’t mean I won’t do that. But if you’re asking about formally hiring a search firm, I don’t think we’ll be formally hiring a search firm. That doesn’t mean I won’t talk to people who may be at search firms, that doesn’t mean I won’t talk to other owners.”

- In regards to his first hiring process.

Sounds like he still went outside the organization for references and suggestions.

you need to watch one of his games, get back to us after

I like Stroud, but it isn’t that simple. His team always has the most talent on the field.

So they need to watch a game, but focus on his mechanics, pocket movement, release, ball placement, off platform throws and their accuracy, ability to handle a 1v1 free rusher, etc.

You may have had that in mind but maybe the other person doesn’t.

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
