There is no excuse for having artificial turf in Charlotte.

I think it’s more about the concerts and other events at BOA, which is ridiculous because BOA is first and foremost a football stadium.

Unfortunately, we have an owner who’d rather put a feather in his cap and sit at a podium and brag about how he single handedly “brought music to Charlotte” because we were all such uncultured savages before who had never been to a concert.

When the winter comes with a lot of snow artificial turf can be heated to melt it and be a fairly clean field. But if you have real grass the ground gets really soft and muddy and breaks up tearing up the field. Maybe that is why some stadiums use either artificial or real grass on their fields and the cost is cheaper/expensive for the type they want. Less maintenance with artificial and more maintenance for real grass. The league needs to set guidelines to prevent players injuries and make it all real grass throughout all stadiums to help prevent injuries.

Most likely.  This article has a list of what a lot of stadiums are using.  It's surprising to me how far north Bermuda is used for fields.

NC falls in the transition zone for grass. It can accommodate northern turf (fescue/KBG) and southern turf (Bermuda). Bermuda is a great grass. I really want to tear up yard and and start over with it.

fescue, KBG looks great but a well maintained healthy Bermuda lawn - there is nothing like it.
