If you like offense there are some brutal games going on right now. What rules will the NFL change next to try to get the high scoring games they desperately want?

They could implement any of these:

1. Relax the rules in pre-snap motion. Things like allowing two players to be moving at once or allow an offensive player to move towards the line of scrimmage before the snap.

2. Eliminate the punt. Boring play and would change play calling. Plus some short fields create cheap points. [Patriots probably not a fan of this after today...]

3. Make DL twists and stunts illegal.

4. Make the mugg look (LBs in the A-gaps) illegal.

5. Make it illegal for the Mike Linebacker to go more than 5-yards down field until the ball is passed or handed off.

All of which are stupid. Nothing wrong with a low scoring game.

    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
    • Cos he looks much better?
