I would have liked to address Edge sooner but the value wasn't there.  I am a proponent of continually building the O-line.   Most importantly Stroud fell to our lap without trading up.

Tillman would be a steal that late. He was Tennessee’s 1 before he got injured. Who is Avila going to replace?

Top 4 QB's were gone, it was a no brainer to grab Carter. Finished the Dline with Ika. Carter, Ika, Brown would be a very formidable Dline for a 3-4 defense. Jones has the skills needed to be very good in zone coverage and adequate in man. Mayer and Bigsby are potential studs on offense. Wicks is very talented if this really good coaching staff can get it out of him. Haener is probably cheaper depth, but I also like his potential.

here is an excellent trade down draft

I think that would be the ultimate hatchet-burying move for this board.  We get a QB, didn't have to move up, actually moved back to get more picks.  I'd be ok with AR if we moved back, just not at #9.  We need more picks this year and we may have a QB more polished sitting there next year within striking distance to move up.  Drafting AR, as completely as raw as he, does not preclude us drafting another next year if a franchise QB can be had.

totally agree on your point about not precluding us from taking a QB next year

No matter who we draft this year, if we're bad enough to be in the top 3 next year I'm taking Maye or Williams and figuring the rest out later

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
