How good is Brian Burns 2022 campaign?

I'm dreading that Fitt is going to hand out a huge contract to Burns. If Fitt thinks Burns is worth more than two 1sts and a second, and that he's a cornerstone foundational player on this team, then Burns' agent is going to use that to break us. This upcoming contract is going to be outrageous, and Fitt is out of his fugging mind.

I would take a 3rd round comp pick before paying Burns that much.

Reddick and Luvu armed/would be good deals. Both are much better players than I ever thought they were. And you could have both, plus 5M more for what Burns would make.

I think he will demand 28 per, Im with you about the <3rd.

Burns age is the big driving factor.

I concur, do you think the figures are fair/accurate enough? would you change any?

I think Luvu may go a little higher since he's been balling out more than anyone else. He may not always show it in the stats, but his effort is undeniable. I think he gets 8.5 to 9.5 per for 3.

Burns contract sounds about right, but guaranteed will be in the 90-100 range which is 18-20 per year for the 5 no matter if he blows his knee out the day after he signs. I hate big guarantees.

If you would have done that 5 pages ago, you might have avoided actually making my argument for me. Now its sad because this has devolved into fanboys going

But I’m sure it will be fine. I’m never right when it comes to contracts and the Panthers.

I think you make a good agent one for luvu, i think it could go higher. my only hang up was his age and fit....i swear hed make one hell of 3-4 edge, he just forces the SLB role to work..

What argument have u made? you have made a completely dumb argument about letting a top 10 pass rusher walk for a complimentary 3 RD pick!  we were offered 2 first and a second and your saying it would be better to let him go for a borderline 4th rounder...i mean my god..

    • 7-3 in 1 score games is not sustainable.  Like at all.  Canales needs to figure this poo out stat
    • It's not optimistic at all. He has an unquestionably higher ceiling than Bryce. He played better than Bryce in his EXTREMELY limited action. That doesn't mean he is will be signficantly better than Bryce nor does that mean he should be a guy you put all your eggs in his basket. But if you want a valid option to replace Bryce when he fails in 2026, he is a very, very valid option. The one thing you cam say for Willis in the limited action is that from his time in Tennessee until now, you see consistent improvement. That isn't something you see with Bryce. I made a QB Success Metric and one thing that stood out from the data was how many 6th and 7th round "shots in the dark" that teams took. That was very eye opening. I don't think we do that enough. Frankly, unless we are happy with our #2 and/or #3 QB, that should be something we do at LEAST once every other season. And all the depth that we lack almost across the entire roster. Now you see why I say the roster is so bad?  So you think we should extend him? That's fine in theory but while we played whack a mole at QB, the entire roster kept getting worse and so did the QB. Just because the roster is bad doesn't mean you just give up with a bad QB. I would hope no one here is advocating for throwing a giant bag of money at Malik Willis or really a chunk of these options. That has no value at all.
    • Has TMac not been healthy? And in Cokers ten games we have like a below .500 record.  The reality is if Young doesn't grow, this team will be at best where it is again. It's extremely hard to win with a QB that is producing so little.
