Have the Panthers done enough

I don't see that ever happening under MJ. He just doesn't care enough about winning as an owner. Such an odd thing to see given how insane of a competitor he was as a player.

And he gets blamed for shortchanging the rebuilds every time with people saying he can't stand losing for 3-4 years at a time. Jordan, like Tepper, cares more for his profits than he does putting on a winning product.

Yep. We really do hang on the precipice. Could go either way.

That's a good way to look at it. We definitely are trending upward. But we are still a young team trying to learn to win. If we much this up, it could get ugly quickly.

On the flip side. 2 hits in the right spots. QB, and OC. And we can become scary really quick. Although say MacAdoo is gone could be a tad premature.

It would be a massive mistake to not dump McAdoo, IMO but I also don't know what the offseason is going to look like.

It is gonna be one of the wilder offseasons in recent memory.

Yeah, in the very early days. I agree. But once the novelty of being a professional sports city wore off, and the LJ, Zo, Mugsy, etc days faded away - along with Shinn's shenanigans, the passion just dwindled.

The Glen Rice era was pretty hype (albeit short-lived) for 8-year-old me.

OG Hornets were the best ticket in all of college and professional NC sports. Not kidding. The only things that come close are Canes Stanley Cup runs and UNC/Duke basketball. Nothing else compared to that.

I went as a kid, we could never afford tickets but my dad would get some from friends. It was pretty hype even when we stank.

The Steelers have fans in every city.  They are a historic franchise who's been on primetime tv for decades.  You are never going to keep Steeler fans out of a stadium unless you are playing in Arrowhead or something.  Shoot, even if the Panthers were undefeated, I would still wager you would see more than half the stadium waving yellow towels.

This. Best seats I ever had for a pro sporting event was 2nd row seats at the old coliseum on Tyvola Road when the Hornets were playing the Utah Jazz in the Karl Malone, John Stockton era. Fantastic game, great crowd, and the beer wasn't even too expensive in those days.

Man, I am getting old...

People who didn't experience it just don't know. It was an amazing time.

    • CHARLOTTE — Things happen fast in a draft room, once they eventually happen. One phone call, 20 seconds in duration. Maybe 15. A string of numbers read aloud as they're scribbled on a pad so the guy next to you can hear them. Click. "Let's do that," and then a quick "call-it-in" and a deal. Or minutes of intense discussion and consultation and debate, but then a casual "Yeah, the defensive tackle," and that's that and you're onto the next thing. https://www.panthers.com/news/months-of-prep-moments-of-action-2024-dan-morgan-carolina-panthers-nfl-draft

    • If the Panthers move, this Carolina Huddle forum should be dissolved too. No Panthers, no Huddle. I'm all for the Panthers staying, suckage or not. It's better to have a team to root for than no team at all. It's bad now but I'm holding out hope for better days. Cleveland has sucked for decades and even though it took a while they managed to be somewhat relevant and made the playoffs. At the same time, all these citizens who show up to voice their opinion about the approval probably have never watched a single panthers football game and just don't want to pay any taxes.
