At this point I don't care if NO goes or not. I want this team to have some measure of sustained success and if that means eating a shitburger served up by NO, fine. Meaningless wins are pointless. We're looking at a new HC, OC, DC, possibly GM, QB, and any number of players coming in and out. Play the young guys, and get prepared to get poo right for once.

Right? I NEVER understood that. How tf can you maintain momentum 8 months apart? Every season is pretty much a clean slate.

okay but as I just said before in another post :

Isn't Sam auditioning for a job himself?

He's a "young guy" as well, don't forget.

Sam is on year 5. I don't consider him a young guy. We don't have anyone else other than PJ so that's pretty much irrelevant at the QB position. I'm just saying I don't care. Winning over NO doesn't change anything with regard to this franchise needing a massive overhaul. Putting yourself in a worse position in the draft just makes it a little harder.

All I'm saying is, don't bother winning meaningless games for "morale" when you choke in the ones that matter. You had a chance to save your 'favorite" coaches' job, win the division, and go to the playoffs.........................but you choked. You couldn't get it done, so let's get players and coaches in here who can.

-win some games, claw back in it. 
-team and fans are energized 

-lay an egg in the first meaningful game jn 5 years and probably win next week to knock them out of position to draft a franchise QB

-coaching staff will be retained and will win 7 games next year

      Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.

      I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.

      Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
