What are you talking about?? Tepper is the 2nd richest owner in the league and there is no CAP on what you can spend on coaches..

It's not rocket science. Irsay is worth almost 4 billion dollars. He has enough money to pay any coach anything he wants (as do probably all these guys). A coach's salary is not equal to the cost of a football team, for example. If they were bidding for another franchise or something of equivalent value, then Tepper wins. Some owners have money to buy multiple pro teams, but they all can pay a coach's salary. The only thing that separates the owners in bidding wars for coaches is the willing to overpay---or grossly overpay---for a coach's services, and the willingness to give potential coaches more control (sometimes unjustified authority). Tepper has shown the willingness to do both, which holds us in good stead (at least from the perspective of getting a premier coach) when it comes to these bidding wars.

You don't think Harbaugh would believe he can fix him?

Noooo!! I think Harbaugh is smart enough to see this a physical declineing QB and a team that trade assets to get him..

And our team he can pick his Qb and still has assets to work with..

Tepper is worth 20 Billion who wins the bidding war??

Whoever wants to give more money and possibly cede more control. It's hyperbolic, but if Irsay decides to pay Harbaugh 50 mil per year (even if it's only for one year), I'd dare say that he's going to win the bidding war (if not lose his credibility). One thing neither one will be losing is their billions to hire a coach.

And again you think Tepper wouldn’t outbid Irsay for Harbaugh when he did it for Rhule??

Harbaugh wouldn't leave Michigan to coach the Panthers no matter how much Tepper offered him. People overestimate the attractiveness of this franchise to a coach like Harbaugh.  Hell you would be lucky to get one of these hot new up and comers to take the job. It may not be a matter of choosing whoever you want. It quite possibly could end up being whoever will take it.

    • It puts more pressure on being right, I always feel trading back is the move 97/100 times. There are times where you fall in love and if that guy is only 7 spots away and the cost is only a 6th or pick swap......why not?? so long the cost is low, Im more willing to do so.  Still one of the best teams at trading back and they torn apart the Panthers on those trades; Pats. You still have to pick the players, that's what happens. In theory you should also add picks, but it does get to point of eight 3rd rounders or two late 1st and a 2nd?? I mean every draft is different, so the talent maybe not fall off a cliff after pick 50. Case by case deal, but vastly I prefer to trade back.....another curve if you trade back and the scouts/coaches have not planned for it. You have to be ready and know the spot you are trading too (everyone). Just like trading out of 1st round two weeks before the draft, that hurts your team as they have been focused on pick 10 and now its wait until pick 42....
    • 🏈 Offense QB: Jack Trudeau RB: Derek Loville FB: Howard Griffith WR: Mark Carrier WR: Willie Green TE: Wesley Walls LT: Todd Steussie LG: Matt Elliott 😄 Jeff Christy RG: Lance Scott RT: Blake Brockermeyer 🛡️ Defense DE: Kevin Greene DT: Eric Swann DT: Greg Kragen DE: Frank Kearse OLB: Lamar Lathon MLB: Sam Mills OLB: Michael Barrow CB: Tyrone Poole CB: Richard Buckner S: Brett Maxie S: Chad Cota
    • IDK, just I know these mock drafts are time "wasters" and even more before FA cause that does change a huge portion of the needs. I think Panthers are in on Lloyd, but just like Milton Williams if the numbers get too high they will change course and still sign one of the lesser ILB. I've also seen reports Panthers want boom back as well, but as STer/backup.   Personally Ive put Wallance in the Ickey, Brooks zone....... Acting like he's not on the team and if he shows out during OTAs, mini, and TC GREEEAT!!! I feel Panthers need to sign at least one and draft 1-2....hell even add another Bam-like UDFA in the UD pool too. Trade is on the table, there have been many trades than past years......   Given the team history, the LB corp is saddest ever. Still the league isnt paying ILB and Panthers finally got with that trend. I do feel Evero wants a IBL that can blitz and everyone wants one able to pass cover.  I feel no matter what, Panthers will draft one in the mid rounds and add a couple in the UDFA class.
