Not sure why OP is getting flack… Are there really people out there that think Wilks should be the head coach moving forward?

Haha there are a ton of people who want wilks. It’s absolutley mind boggling. Like one of the dumbest things I’ve ever come across in my life following sports. The following he has is outrageous.

He deserves an interview but I think the locker room is going to fight for him and he ends up with the job.

If they hire him they damn well better be contenders next year. Because that is the only way I will ever fully support Wilks. But they won’t be and Wilks will bring stable mediocrity and Rivera levels of ineptitude.

You got wfnz guys cheerleading him on Twitter this morning. You have mike freeman posting an article that he should be the head coach. You would think this guy is 11-0 and not 5-6.

He did not beat one team over .500. The teams he beat have a combined record of 34-46. He lost to the rams, falcons, and Steelers in a must win game with a back up QB. Give me a break. This guy has proven absolutely nothing other than he’s not head coach material.

It is a feel good story and the media, and local media, are running with it. Most, if not all, do not look at the stats that interim HC the majority of the time do not work out when they become the full time HC. Jeff Fisher is the ONLY former interim HC to have any real success and that was in the 90s. Players and media and Wilks supporters are only following their emotions and not looking at the big picture. History has not been kind to former interim HC and Wilks will likely be another failure.

I hope Tepper has learned from Rhule and not think he be the one to hire the second coming of 90s Jeff Fisher. But if we hire Wilks the team will likely be playing like a team from the 90s.

Lol what did you want him to do?

His best player gets traded.

He has an incomplete staff he didn't pick

His best QB was hurt ( how many games did Wilks have without Sam?)

He eventually loses the only two Corners he has and has to sign a Barista.

He didn't pick the offensive or defensive scheme he had to use Rhules garbage.

He didn't pick or sign any players again Rhules garbage.

He was given a huge pile of schit and asked to make a gourmet meal.

    • I am really sorry  that  happened to you they say to never meet your sports heroes i have friends who met  mickey mantle when they were young and he was a belligerent alcoholic at the time  ut broke their hearts  I had the opportunity to meet and spend  time with Cam Newton.     He was the polar opposite of Steve Smith and his public image.   Polite.  Honest when asked question.  You could tell the things that mattered to him and the things that  didnt. The disappointments in himself and the things that hurt him  those qualities make him quite a good interviewer too  i genuinely liked him   Im sure as young, rich, sports hero, he has not been a choir boy but there is goodness in him  the time i met him i took one of my friends with me from the west coast. She said she didn't like him and wasn’t enthusiastic about meeting him.  She left loving him   No one can say anything bad about ‘her Cam’ anymore
    • Agree about oline. They've tried their best to improve that area. But honestly, has it looked like the most expensive oline in the NFL to you? Not just with Bryce. With Dalton's one game where they almost got the old man killed.  Also YAC shouldn't always be hitting a guy in stride while he's running full speed. Pickens killed us after the catch and those weren't all hit-in-stride plays. I remember a play in Miami when a guy caught a 5 yards curl and took it like 30-40 yards to the house. We don't have that in Carolina. Horn might be the closest thing to that but he can't get significant PT for whatever reason. If Bryce keeps trusting his receivers to make plays, I think he'll become more consistent. Seemed like he only trusted TMac. And force feeding one receiver isn't sustainable. Defenses will start to blanket him and take him out of the game. And yeah, keep taking deep shots. I hate all that dink and dunk football. Hate it.
    • Dan Marino sucked too I guess. Washed up Elway carried by Terrell Davis was actually better than prine Elway. Lol
