I'm curious who Dorsey would bring in as his OC. Maybe Joe Brady?

Kafka was a guy I wanted Panthers to look at as OC last off-season, but I don't think he's ready for the HC gig yet.

I feel like Reich/Caldwell are more of OC candidates to pair with Wilks than true HC candidates.

You don’t want to know the answer to that. Look deeper.

Mike Shula is on the staff. Brady would probably replace Dorsey as OC.

Hopefully Tepper is underwhelmed by these guys’ interviews and drags his shriveled up brass balls begging back to Harbaugh

I won't be surprised if Harbaugh either already has another job or has definitively gone back to Michigan before we even finish our interviews.

As to our other Rooney Rule interview, I know some are speculating Demeco Ryans but given our offensive focus, I'm kind of wondering if it might not be Byron Leftwich.

Leftwich could also conceivably be an OC candidate under Steve Wilks If Tampa parts ways with him (which has been speculated as a possibility).

Noteworthy as well, while he's been a hot commodity in previous offseasons, to date this year Leftwich has not received a single request to interview.

Did you happen to catch the team that knocked him out of the playoffs getting skull drug 65-7 last night?

no I don't watch college football and it's completely irrelevant. Harbaugh is proven at the NFL level with crappy QBs. If he gets himself a Mahomes type QB like Andy Reid did he'd be set up to build a dynasty. He's that good of an NFL coach. And Tepper is gonna blow it because of his ego

That would be stupid and a waste of an interview, Leftwich is trash and that was proven this year after Arians left. Ryans, although defensive which is not ideal, is a legit fresh HC candidate who would not be a waste of an interview.

Not even just for the Rooney rule although it would satisfy it, I'd circle back to Eric Bieniemy. Mahomes and Reid are great but his contributions to making the Chiefs the number 1 offense after getting rid of Hill can't be ignored. He should be a sought after legit candidate.

Okay. I mean just a couple of years ago Michigan fans were ready to run him out of town because they sucked.

Dude wants full control like Rhule. How you gonna go demand full control of an NFL team when the college team you couldn't beat just got the doors blown off of them by 8 (EIGHT!) touchdowns? 😂

Jalen Hurts did not look third string last year…don’t make stuff up. the Eagles didn’t draft a QB this past draft for a reason. The guy had respectable numbers last year and had 26 total TDs last year. So you cant take away hurts development and just give it to Steichen.

steichen was booed out of Los Angeles. He was disliked by the fan base because of his horrendous play calling. Abandoning the run, deep balls on short downs, and wacky play designs for easy first downs.

he has definitely improved as an OC for the Eagles, but a lot of reports are starting to come out that he isn’t the reason hurts was successful this year and that it was more on Johnson.

I put in many hours of research on Steichen over the past month. As someone who started a thread on why we should hire Steichen back in week 4…. I’m considering starting a thread on why we should NOT hire Steichen now.

If you think Hurts played good last year thats on you.

Transitive property does not apply in sports. Michigan embarrassed an Ohio St. team (in their own home, I might add) that only lost to Georgia by 1 point.

Feels like Eric B’s chance for a HC gig has come and gone. He’s interview with like half the league and no one’s thought enough to take the plunge. No (known) interview requests this go around so far either.

I'd be good with fields. I doubt Chicago is going to give up on him though. They'll get a ton for the first pick

They could trade the pick or pick another QB and trade Fields. I'm just suggesting as a potential option. That team is in full rebuild, and if they like one of the draftable QB's they may feel they can draft that QB to reset the rookie clock on their QB, which would give them more years with more salary cap flexibility to add more pieces for the rebuild. They would also get assets from trading Fields. As you mentioned, I lean to them not trading Fields, but things change when teams start scouting, so nothing is off the table

It does when a guy is demanding full control of your football operations. I think that's precisely why Tepper chatted with him and immediately decided no thanks on that. At least he seems to have learned his lesson from making that mistake previously.

It's actually a good point. If they think they're 3-4 years away from contending and they like a rookie as much as Fields they may go that route and gain a couple more years of a QB on a rookie contract. Who knows?

    • Yeah if he can't step into the pocket and throw the ball without jumping in the air it's gonna be more of the same. I think someone his height could technically do it, I just don't know if he can break the bad habits. I liked Doug Flutie as a feel good story but I wouldn't have done a massive trade up for him and that's where the frustration lies with most people
    • This is what people are failing to realize, you cant take a 3/5/7 step drop and make it a 6/10/14 step drop and still think the OL can create a pocket.  All you have to do is run around the tackles and wait for BY to fall/scramble into your open arms, the chances of him stepping up into the pocket are miniscule because he wont be able to see the field in there.
