Looking at this, it seems that we may have narrowed it down and looking at whoever wanted this guy as a DC.  They seem to be vetting it out, to get a good feel on if it(staff the coach likes) makes sense.

To me it looks like they're trying to get the rooney rule interviews out of the way because they already know who they want to hire, whether that be Wilks or one of the rising OCs out there.

The fact they have been blasting out requests to all these minority coaches the past few days makes me think they already like Wilks to take over next season.

Just my guess though.

*Edit*

I can't read, it's for a coordinator position.

The tweet said they're considering him for a coordinator position, so I don't believe this has anything to do with the Rooney Rule.

This says for a Coordinator  position. Therfore it doesn't qualify for the Rooney Rule. This is pointing towards a staff that someone wants assembled.

fug yeah. I don't know what it definitely means as far as the HC, but that we're probably hiring an OC as HC and getting a much-needed DC to pair up with him.

The more I think about it, the more it is definitely  pointing away from Wilks. I'd assume Wilks would want to keep Holcomb as DC, so you are on to something.  We just interviewed  Shane yesterday  virtually  but it seems steam is picking up between him and Ben Johnson.

Only link I can find between the HC candidates and Manuel is Ken Dorsey. They played together at Miami for 3 seasons.

Definitely  something to keep an eye on. I'm not the biggest Dorsey fan out of the selections but don't hate him.

    • I think those silver helmets look great. The logo is fairly primitive looking but I understand why it is used.    I can’t stand mono color combinations fwiw, the dayglo type blue top/bottom, I think looks like a cartoon. IOW not good. White on white is a classic look, no issue.  That is about as much fashion content as I am comfortable posting. Maybe go to E or Bravo for this stuff.
    • Remember when the NFC South was the toughest division (circa 2002-2006 when every NFC Championship game featured one of the four of us?)
    • You are a fair point argument guy, but I disagree that Bryce got us out of that Miami hole. You know who Rico Dowdle is, right?  Just a small quibble.    IMO when I look at him and see his output in a typical game I imagine what he did that a replacement level guy wouldn’t or couldn’t have done.  And I have trouble seeing much difference.  So assuming they can’t replace him with someone’s backup, not everybody’s but there are guys sitting, assuming they can’t replace him for probably less money would potentially be an erroneous assumption.    But based more on his relationship with the team and the guys making the decisions, the question of will they? I tend to see them sticking with him.  I never wanted him at all. But after all the misery of the Bryce era so far, I don’t have a problem with waiting until the season is complete to decide. Bring it on, I can take it.  So I am not ranting that he needs to go, although I have certainly done that and can’t say he has changed my mind to this point.  He still could.  We’ll see.
