On that I agree. But the football god's have not been kind to us for many years my friend.  I never say never.  My hopes hinge on who is makings those decisions going forward.  So I'm in neutral until other dominoes fall.

If we manage to hire a coach worse than Rhule I will be forced to hang up my Panthers Fandom to begin my new job shaving badgers with dull razors.

That's a lot of assumptions you have there. Different doesn't guarantee better. You might want to wait to see how the season plays out before deciding its automatically going to be better.

Yeah, he's got to be younger than us. I've lived too much to have blind optimism.

Younger?  Moved to Charlotte in 1982, been following since the inaugural season.

Not blind optimism, just recognizing the absolutely breathtaking peak pessimism on this site.  I’ll stand by my original comment that we’ve seen the worst with the combination of Rhule and the overall 2022 QB performance, IF we land Kafka or Steichen.

In any event, if things are worse in 2023, I invite you to remind me of this and I will ‘eat crow.’

I hope you're right. If you're wrong, I'll be too busy commiserating to think about anyone "eating crow." To be clear, we're just suggesting that you might wanna slow your role, not that you're going to be wrong or right.

Wise counsel always welcome…

    • Everybody made too much of that. The CBA and the 17 game schedule is what kills the cohesion we see in teams across the league in the opening games.  You decide, look at your depth and make informed decisions there or you get a an extra quarter or whatever two quarters with your ones.  Teams that are set don’t have those openings as much down the roster to evaluate but that ain’t everybody. It is a quandary. I think they need that 4th preseason game back. But as I said, I don’t lay that as the excuse for Bryce to come out looking like he does to start seasons. He has an entire camp.
    • Hey I said the 1pm west coast team, I said the up down up down and we were due for the up week.  You can’t know what is going to happen. There was a guy that detailed why the league would engineer a Panthers win to bring LA Rams back to the pack in conference standings.  Who really knows, and how much real belief do you have when citing these things? I generally have as much as my superstition allows. It rarely rises to an emotional experience. Usually it is more analytical. In terms of interest. When crazy poo happens and we win a game like today I for sure enjoy it.  I mean you have to think about it, how many times do you connect 2 4th and short situations for TDs? Who does that? That is like the most embarrassing thing for the Rams’ defense lol. That never happens and should never happen.  Expecting it to happen might not be a good plan. But it was pretty great
