I feel like we need a sign that says this...

Brissett was the only other FA alternative to Darnold that I felt was an actual viable upgrade but was concerned about being a much more expensive option. Would be nice if having Reich here means the price tag is less.

With Reich we can build our QB room, not necessarily have to get a retread. Roll with Corral and maybe draft a guy to compete along with Eason.

To me though, listening to him speak about the defense I could easily see #9 go to defense and seeing what QBs may drop, just like last season with Corral.

I think Young will drop because size/durability concerns, somewhat to the degree Corral fell. Just a hunch.

His contract expired. He'd need to be resigned.

I can't wait to see what he does with currently the only QB on the roster, who needs to get his self back in town asap...

If I am not mistaken they can't talk to the players about actual Xs and Os until April 1.

I think it's a stupid rule. I think the players should be able to do whatever they want voluntarily.

Panthers are more likely to trade up the stay put to draft defense…again.

Darnold isn’t coming back. Get over him.

They drafted offense first last season. If there is a star WR or DE there we need to seriously consider that player for real.

Doesn’t matter, QB is more important. Panthers know this and so I think we are moving up.

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
