Restructure Shaq & sign Okereke, Pratt, or Holcomb.

Shaq hasn't seemed particularly agreeable to any sort of salary changes.

He's also not eligible for a restructure folks. He needs to be extended and void years added or he has to get cut, there is no other path for him as his cap hit is untenable as it stands.

Yeah he's either getting cut and getting paid less by another team, or getting extended for less money here. Average player and he sure acted pretty immature for a good chunk of the Rhule era for someone that was retained as a veteran leader or whatever.

It's been reported that the Jets personnel people actually wanted Carr but owner Woody Johnson wants Rodgers so they all have to go along.

Johnson is the same guy who kept Rex Ryan around as his head coach because he liked his big talking personality. Whether or not the team was actually successful under him was apparently secondary.

(talk about a nightmare)

The team was better under Hess family ownership, and I threw up in my mouth just writing this…

    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
    • Alright man! We're here for it! Just glad you're keeping the doors open!
    • I think we've seen improvement in Bryce's performance. It still isn't up to world beater status, but in Canales defense, he can say that the limitations of the player were hit. I think he survives that even if Bryce doesn't. Still, I think it's a 50/50 shot for Bryce to make it. QB is one of the toughest jobs to do in the sports world, if not the most, so the failure rate is really high, no matter the pedigree. Heck, Archie Manning gets a lot of credit as a great QB but anyone who saw his career in motion knows he wasn't really that good and he was surrounded by bottom of the bowl players. He did get it figured out with his sons, though. That grandson... maybe.
