It doesn't seem like we have much interest at top market value. I mean, if we like several QBs in the draft then the draft would be the smart move.

If it's as tight lipped as the coaching hire we may not know what they are thinking until draft night.

The whole situation is bad.. Carr market value  desperation in the market.. Says this is going to be a bidding war and who wants to be in a bidding war for a 32 year old meh QB??? Smh

I have no doubt the Panthers are interested in Carr. We sign him and we are immediately the favorites in the division for the foreseeable future. Best QB, best coach, and best defense. It seems we are letting the more desperate teams take their shots first, and I think that is a smart move. Let someone else make a mistake by overpaying.

Im in on this guy for the right price.

Why???

You win the division but still have no chance of winning the superbowl..

Reich said “ Winning the division and making the playoffs is the floor competing for Super Bowl is the exception “ ..

Carr at 30 mil+ a year goes against that..

Definitely.

As far as Carr, my attitude is the same as with the draft.

We have a coaching staff and leadership that I trust, so I'll sign on to what they decide.

I will trust but will lose some confidence if Vet QB retread is the path they take…

Carr can be a nice bridge QB imo, but who here really believes Carr would defeat Burrow, Mahomes, or a newer superstar QB in the SB? No chance. That means no SB with Carr, and hence he is a bridge QB. Offer him a bridge QB contract, and if he turns his nose up, then who gives a poop?

About the only thing I can trust going forward is that it can't possibly be any worse.

    • Just worry about it next year.  Its that simple honestly.  its way to early to do what ifs.  I could see us trade/cut chuba and retain dowdle, I could see them let dowdle walk and go with Chuba/Etienne and Brooks, and I could see Dowdle and Chuba both stay and see what happens.  Hell, we still have 6 games left THIS season plus possible post-season...what if Rico or Chuba have an ACL tear or severe injury.  I DO NOT want that to happen, but stuff like that does happen.  Remember RB is the most injury prone position in the NFL due to the beating their bodies take so having some extra guys is never bad, just wish it hadn't come at the cost we paid to get him.
    • I think it’s cool that no one can be really certain what the outcome will be.  That’s a lot of progress! This is a real opportunity for us, I’d be happy with a competitive game and thrilled if we sack up for a W.
    • I could never found out who did the first surgery. That failed.      Nor who did the recent one.    Yiu can’t count on anything involving him. If it happens it’s a windfall at this point.
