Anthony Richardson is an elite athlete, but its really disrespectful to compare him to Cam Newton. Did anybody watch Cam in college? He won the Heisman for a reason... He was the consensus #1 pick in a year where they had no OTA's and was the rookie of the year.

If we draft AR, I'm excited about who he CAN be... but we gotta be real about who he is now. And its not close to what Cam was coming out of college.

To be fair cam definitely wasnt the consensus #1 pick pre draft

How is it there will never be another Cam but there will be another Brady?

That never made sense. You're basically saying Cam was so talented that there will never be another QB like him in NFL history. Josh Allen plays like Cam imo and he is a better passer.

People saying Burrow is the next Brady. I can see the comparison.

You can compare QB's. We been doing it for decades.

It’s not the talent per se, it’s the combination of talent, physicality, athleticism and heart.  That was rare.  Highly unlikely there will be another Cam. There might be someone who has some of his traits, but not all of them. For example you could say Hurts has some of Cam’s talent and all of his athleticism, but he doesn’t have his physicality as the team’s goal line battering ram.  Josh Allen might be the closest but he’s still lacking Cam’s physicality and possibly that intangible … if you don’t wanna call it heart, call it killer instinct or something.

Josh Allen is Cam Newton. I don't see how you can't see the similarities.

Allen trucks LB's all the time. How is he not physical?

I said he’s the closest but no, I’ve never seen him do what Cam did almost every game on the goal line. I don’t mean “running between the 20s and runs into a LB”. I mean goalline battering ram.

I don't think he's nearly as good a runner as Cam. everything else he does as well or better. But running ability pure speed and even power...No.

    • Not many are talking about this player. He played well as a rookie last year. If he refines his blocking, continues studying film, and keeps working hard, I can see him being the next Greg Olsen. I’m expecting 55 catches, 700 yards, 4 TDs this season.
    • I'm not a Bryce hater and I would 100% move on.  Especially looking at how the upcoming qb draft looks on paper.  Hopefully he continues to improve but if in 3 seasons you're still chasing average season numbers then he's not going to be the guy.  You've just got to keep taking swings until you hit.  Average qbs without any elite physical traits cant get it done anymore.  So this year Hopefully he continues to develop and is above average statistically.
    • Meltdowns???? He was pulled by Canales because he wasn't executing the game plan after 2 games into the season so he could watch Dalton execute the offense and show Bryce the windows available in the NFL, how to push the ball down the field and how to step up and move around when blitzed. When Young came back 5 games later he clearly watched and improved. Enough he was named the future starter. He doesn't have a history of  meltdowns nor is there any reason to assume he will have one. From what I have read he is mentally strong and emotional stable. He may have bad games down the road, everyone does. But this is all a learning experience for him and so far he seems to be making progress. I can understand being hesitant on anything Panthers, but Young has surprisingly been able to gain his confidence after a disastrous start. You aren't alone in being cautious but I think he is the future. I thought he was too small and too short to succeed in the NFL. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised last year and am optimistic about the offense for the first time since Wilks and Dalton were decent.
