I honestly think it's because he pretty much just relies on sheer raw talent. Hence why they tried to include clauses in his contract to actually force him to watch film and study up.

Keep him contained and he struggles. Let him play backyard football and he plays well.

Hence the between the ears comment. It is his biggest career limiting factor.

Normally I'd say who cares about a QB not running but when you're gonna be a 24 year old rookie and you're still asking to be drafted on sheer raw talent, this matters.

Oh, but he's going to throw 'cos he's got a cannon and wants to show it off.

Which tells me he knows he's going to clock up a slow 40 time (for his "wow, what an athlete" stock).

He already ran a 40 earlier in the year at KY. It was a 4.72... Scouts are estimating he will be in the mid 4.5 range. They already know this stuff. This is just fan fare right now.

Why isn’t young doing the drills?

Probably bc he put on 20lbs for the combine weigh in... and gonna lose it for his pro day. I was so against the NFLPA getting rid of the combine..  but the more I see how fans treat it vs how it was original proposed ... they probably should end this. The NFL wont though... too much moneys
