This is intriguing....surely speculation, but what if. Get a little bit back from HOU to make sure they get "there guy" while we still get ours.

No guarantee that HOU doesn't just take who they want, but if they REALLY want Young and we bluff it enough, they could take the bait.

you have a open mind and see this......trying to reason with others on this, given the tiny likelihood, its open season........

IDK why some people from the media and on this forum keep counting this years 1st when we swapped.

We only gave up a 1st, 2nd (2) and a player on the last year of his rookie deal. This was an absolute steal to move up 8 slots for the top selection of QBs!!

The Bears had a good reason--they have a ton of cap room, and Fields is in year 3, his "make or break" year.  They needed a player now, not in 2025.  The Panthers, on the other hand, need cap space and, frankly, would never get a first round draft pick in a trade for Moore--maybe a second or third.  I They have some young WRs who could be turning the corner (Marshall, Smith) and I think they will add one in the draft and in free agency.

To give his input to rhule and help run scouting and the draft preparation, but make no mistake Rhule had 100% roster control as it was in his contract.

Scott Fitterer absolutely deserves a large helping of blame for the miserable failures he and Rhule cooked up. Fitterer pined for Darnold and gave up so many picks, he had to trade one excellent player to recoup them.

Then he traded another excellent player to move up, only to move down and pick the fourth- or fifth-best QB in the draft. Now there's only one excellent player left, and he's gotta go soon, because his talent is stinking up the roster.

He was extended. There's three years left on his deal.

You need to be dismissed.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
