Just now, The Huddler said:

i didnt day his size will allow him to withstand hits

i said his size may allow him to be more agile to avoid hits.  thats not some crazy statement

He is not that athletic to be some savant at making people miss in the nfl, if smaller guys had an advantage to getting tagged in the nfl then you would see more smaller qbs.  That simply is not the case.  He is at a distinct disadvantage in regards to his size.  You cannot argue that

I've also seen him tackled by pass rushers who just had to use a single arm to bring him down.

This isn't the case of a small RB being an advantage 'cos he can hide behind his Olinemen.

The lsu tape posted yesterday had numerous examples of this

being smaller is not an advantage, wtf is the huddler talking about?

i wonder how drew brees lasted so long

A) Brees is the most accurate passer in the nfl and was famous for his quick release

B) If you have to compare young to brees then you are already behind the 8 ball

C) Young has made his living getting flushed from the pocket in college and while having 9-10 seconds to throw he still makes plays.  Thats not going to be the norm in the nfl

Being shorter doesn't help anyone avoid sacks, especially not when the rules penalize headhunting.

Unless they were planning to swing for your skull, being shorter is not an advantage.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
