There are rumors that Nick Caserio is leaving the Texans right after the draft.

With that in mind, he may want to set them up well for the future...or he may want to screw them over.

Depends on whether he's leaving on good terms or not.

(and given how things have done the last few years, bad terms are definitely a possibility)

Albright is just guessing. Heck, he said so himself.

The people who actually do have inside  connections pretty much all say the final decision isn't made yet.

I doubt that the owner is just going to let him screw them over.

The draft is in less than 2 weeks.  I'm sure the front office and coaches are still going through their final evaluations, but I am fairly certain they have a good sense of who they plan on picking #1.  Obviously the team won't come out and say that - it would be a disservice to the other QBs they have coming in on visits/interviews.  But I don't think this is as much of a mystery as people are making it out to be.

I won’t be surprised if we hoping to trade #1 pick to Houston and maybe pick up extra 2nd round pick.

Or we could be stringing them along, view them close enough but know who they want and are making it seem like we want him in hopes of getting another pick..

I would be shocked.  It wouldn't make any sense at all.  

It is like people forget we included DJ Moore in the trade.  Our best player on offense by far.  You don't do that if you don't plan at sticking at #1.

Young is most definitely not a generational talent but he’s the only QB Texans are interested in.  Texans will run dink and dunk system which Young fits perfectly.

The Panthers are not trading the #1 pick.  I would bet my last dollar on it.  Doesn't make a lick of sense and I don't know why people keep trying to push it as a possibility.  Has any credible source said that the Texans have even talked to the Panthers about trading up?  Has any credible source said the Panthers have any interest in trading the #1 pick?  Why would the Panthers trade away DJ Moore, to trade down to #2?  What could the Texans reasonably and realistically give us that would offset giving away DJ Moore?  The Panthers weren't willing to part with another 1st, hence why they gave up Moore instead, so it would have to be 2 1sts.  And the Texans aren't giving up 2 1sts to move up one spot.

Can we please stop pushing this theory that the Panthers are trying to trick the Texans into trading up to #1?

A) It just doesnt work like that in the nfl

B) I seriously doubt the panthers could pull this type of move off.  I know its a new era but incompetence has been the name of the game for this franchise for the better part of 30 year

 

But if Fitt did pull it off he would ascend to next level

      I find it funny those who continue to hate on Bryce based on his rookie year when he had zero weapons or offensive line have a problem with those of us projecting his career from the 8-9 games where he played like a top 10 QB and made more big time throws during that period than any other QB.  The stats may bot have been there in terms of yards or TD passes but that’s coming as the roster improves. For those who think physical traits can overcome roster deficiencies we all witnessed how Mahomes looked under pressure that Bryce faced for most of his rookie year, we saw what happened with Stroud in similar circumstances.  None of us were creating posts proclaiming Bryce as the next Brady but we can’t just sit idly while thread after thread is created continuing with the  anti Bryce tropes  instead of supporting him and just letting him continue to develop.

      To me Bryce's ceiling is his backup, Andy Dalton, in his prime.  Sure, he may get us some winning seasons and may even get us to the playoffs on occasion, but with an early exit.  To me he doesn't have what it takes to be elite and it takes an elite QB to consistently get deep into the playoffs.  He's not Jackson, he's not Mahomes and he's not even Allen.  In an organization like Philly, he possibly could have what it takes to make a deep run, but let's face it...Philly is well oiled machine and and we are a GMC Grimlin.

      If he was he would still be in the league.... Cam never learned to play QB without relying on his athletism and rocket arm.
