I find it strange that an old school coaching staff and front office would want a 5-10, 175 ilb qb at #1 overall. Doesn't make any damn sense at all.

You find it strange because that's all you see ...a 5'10, 175lb QB. That's the problem. You cannot/will not see anything beyond that.

If he was 5-10 and stocky that's a different story, but when he's at his playing weight, that's just scary in the NFL.

Please read the following article and it might relieve you from thinking that Bryce Youngs size will be a major problem in the NFL.

If he actually was 200ish, It wouldn't be a problem but he isn't 200ish..

Heck he's not even 190ish like Alabama had him, he played between 170-180 and was 185 at the most.

I know he's got all the tools as a qb, but his frame (not his height) is a major freaking issue.

Murray, Wilson, Brees were all legit 210-220lb framed qb's.

Young has a frame where maybe he can get to what Alabama had him listed at in a healthy way

While we can’t remove the size element of  Bryce Young’s evaluation, I feel there's enough positives to make his height and frame just a part of who he is as a QB, not what defines him.

Aside from his height and size, Bryce has literally everything you want out of a QB draft prospect. Richardson is literally the exact opposite. Bryce was the right choice.

Bryce led this draft class in generated pressure (pressure the qb is responsible for)

Outside of his frame, that's the biggest worry next level.

If he gets his weight up and it doesn't impact his Athleticism much or any then size isn't really a concern.

It might seem like I hate the pick, I actually don't hate the pick at all. Just super concerned about his size buy hopefully he is successful and becomes the exception to the rule

I haven't seen people making fun of Stroud. All I see is people making fun of Young and his size.

I think most were fine with Young/Stroud/AR.

I’ve seen a lot of folks make fun of Stroud for his S2. They been posting memes here the last few days.

I can see where there is a concern with his size but let's hope the many positives Bryce Young has will override that one negative factor.

Some folks seem to think that the flipside of hyping up the guy we take is sh-tting all over the guys we don't.

It's actually not required at all 😕

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
