Ranking the NFCS Rosters

Good to hear the Panthers getting some love. It's nice to have Ryan Brees and now Brady out of the picture. If anyone thinks this might be an easy division though I would wait and see what the preseason brings. The Bucs could go either way but the Saints and Falcons will definitely test us.

He’s played 0 snaps in the nfl.  I’m going to hold off on proclaiming what he is until he actually does it.   And where did I call him incompetent?

You said we need a competent QB. Then you doubled down with Dalton. Young is a competent QB. He meets all of the criteria of the statement. He has everything needed to have success himself.

I don’t agree.  Tampa’s O-line is trash.  They lost their top RB.  Their pass rush is below average.  And they have the worst QB in the division.

Mmmm but they still have the big pieces, and they have depth(at least of last year). I won’t start catching up on other teams rosters until 53 is set in August/September, too many variables to worry about out of the house stuff. What I know is our depth the past 3 years has been complete garbage and last year was no exception. Wilks was just about to coax a little more out of them and didn’t have as many injuries. As a complete roster going into the season from last season I’d go,

TB

NO =/> CAR

 ATL.

Depth matters.

He is not a qb competent yet.   He hasn’t taken one fuging snap yet.  He is totally unproven.  Goddamn some of you guys need to not get so fuging emotional defending him.

Like I said. You are confusing competent and unproven.

I don’t understand why people think our roster is worse than Tampa and Atlanta’s outside if the QB? We split with these teams last year with terrible QB play and half of a coaching staff. I think we definitely got better as well. Brown, Burns, Horn, Chinn, and Shaq are as good of pieces as any defense in the division. Our OL is probably the best, Sanders is probably better than Tampa or NO’s RBs (with Kamara suspended), our WRs are pretty unproven outside of Thielen/Chark so we are probably last there but Hurst is mid-tier for TE (below ATL obviously).

I think Atlantas roster is heavily underrated. If their QB is halfway decent (big ask), they won't compete with the 49ers or Eagles but they will be in that 2nd tier of NFC teams with the Giants, Seahawks etc.

Tampa and NO rosters are old and bad.

I truly believe that most folks just can't let go of the past. Their fear of the past is stronger than their hope for the future.

Also, there are those that just have to be realists. But that's a whole different animal. lol

I think NO has the most complete team/depth outside of QB, and they actually got a solid QB this year.

Not sure how you have Tampa ranked #1 - the team lost their entire pass rush outside of Vea, is awful at half of their O-line spots (with no oline depth), and practially lost all of their secondary depth

The only positions I think they are strong at is WR (if Godwin can actually stay healthy), LB, and secondary (1 injury here severely changes that though).

I wouldn't be surprised if Tampa is a seller at the trade deadline and finishes last in the division.

Who is underrating Atlanta's roster?

They have been getting praise all offseason for their moves and draft. Their only weakness is QB. They literally have the skill positions on offense. They improved that defense tremendously.

The article linked at the beginning of the thread.

Atlanta has some great skill players, but how are they in the trenches? The OL and run defense was pretty bad last year. They do have the 2nd best coaching staff IMO outside of us.

    • Yes, but those guys aren't depth guard signings, they're likely going to wait and see who has injuries or players under performing and then sign there. I also think that if Ickey really is going to be able to play at some point this year, that's where our guard depth comes from.  As if he gets to the point of being active, we'd then have 3 LT's on the roster with him, Freeling, and Walker, gotta think one of them not named Freeling gets kicked inside if needed.
    • lol imagine being Hill and this is what your coach thinks about you replacing a guy giving up over 4 goals per game.
    • I don't think Tyreek is a bad player to play with on the field, for sure not in the same way that Diggs is, as he's a cancer on the field with how he acts, and wouldn't take kindly to being 2nd fiddle behind T-Mac. It's that Tyreek is just a terrible person who realistically shouldn't even be in the NFL, his insane athletic ability is why his off field transgressions have been overlooked.  If he was a WR3, no team would have kept him around, it was only that he was a 1st ballot HOF level talent that kept him around. Just zero interest in having a person like that around our young WRs, that's really all it comes down to for me with him. Again, if we were true contenders this year, that changes things and I'd rather bring in the best possible players and hope it works out.  But they're trying to build something here and to do that, you need high quality people, not just great talent.
