I see Portland is looking to trade the #3 for a proven player.

Any chance we could also get #3 for Bridges and a future pick?

That way we all end up happy Scoot and Miller back to back.

I don’t think so. Especially with Bridges history…. I would love if we could flip him for a pick though.

If there was a particular video that convinced me that Miller is the guy, it was the one below.

The whole video is Miller off the dribble. The only think you don’t really see Miller do is get to the rim which can be worked on. Coaches will put some weight on him, work on his ball handling and his iso game, and then you have a legit superstar in my opinion.

You're probably right, but this dude is still a hell of a player and a borderline allstar talent.

I think Dame would welcome this type of move for Portland.

I was sold when he dropped 41 after the off court stuff. The media was on him heavy and he was so poised under pressure. Give me that dude. He handles pressure pretty well.

The NCAA Tourny is what people will bring up, but I give him a pass because it was reported he was playing with a groin injury. That's why he was being more of a playmaker in the Tourny. If he was healthy I think Alabama would have won it all.

Based on every report I've ever heard/read. And why would he say it? To make himself not look like a self absorbed douche nozzle.

This. He and his agent's strategy was to play for LA at all costs. They threatened teams who were considering taking him that he would go play in Italy rather than sign with them and refused workouts with them, not just the Hornets, but also the Nets and Kings have gone on record saying that.

What do you think of his shooting? His stats are rough and it’s a huge concern to me.

He's 59% between 0-9 ft, and ~roughly 42% from 15-19. He's young and has improved his shooting over the course of 2 years. He's incredible at getting to the basket and creating. I think you could make him PG and slide Lamelo to the 2 spot and cook.

One thing I have learned in basketball, is that when you are at the top of the draft you take the best player period, not the best fit.

Speaking of, I’ve read that Scoot may be refusing workouts with teams that don’t have immediate need at PG…such as the Hornets and the Blazers.

Scoot's age and sheer superstar upside is just something you don't pass on to take Brandon Miller, who's got question marks outside the game of basketball in itself.  Miller would be a colossal mistake.

And I know he wasn't the killer, I'm not saying we're all saints, but still, being the one who brought the murder weapon, at the behedst of the shooter (Miles), confirmed via text, well, to the eventual murder scene just scares the crap out of me.

There's just so much weirdness to the whole story, I would just stay far and away from him if it were me.  Morant's whole ordeal right now is about flashing and pretending to be all tough whereas Miller's circle actually had a straight up shootout killing.

This is an easy call.  Scoot all day, every day.

And honestly, I would not even bother re-signing Bridges and dare I say even consider trading Lamelo at this point for a fortune.  I just don't Lamelo isn't bringing rings to the QC and this team is far from competing.  New owner, new coach, new star all needed.

Find the best stud complimentary pieces for Scoot to get in return for Lamelo and some future unrestricted 1sts.  Ayton+Cam, Jabari Smith+Eason, I don't know, but I'd rather position this squad for a rework than continuing to try and build something around Ball.

    • For example your data starts with Brady winning. Before that dynasty it was more wide open with different teams winning different ways. I don’t think that what they accomplished would be considered any sort of norm for the league (although the Chiefs might be proving me wrong currently).  I get what you are saying though. Teams just have to be looking for ways to win outside of finding the next Brady or Mahomes, because that’s just not realistic. That’s like counting on winning the lottery as part of your retirement plans. I would focus more on the other teams that have won and how they accomplished it. Most of those were solid, balanced rosters. One could argue the Patriots had a nice defense helping out Brady keeping games close for him to do his clutch drives. Similar to the Chiefs playoff run. Their defense isn’t getting enough credit either because it was tough in the playoffs.
    • If you have $100k in the bank and you live in a paid for home you can probably make it quite awhile relatively comfortably with SS supplementation as long as you're not being extravagant. Then you hit the first big medical expense and now you're in a financial tailspin.
