Is Richard Marshall in over his head?

That is true he is good at tackling & is a solid player. However, a lot of those tackles are from him getting burned by the opposition then had to take them down.

You see, the passes defended column is sort of what negates your statement (unless he's being targetted more often - which could also be tied to which receivers he's being matched up with as well).

Marshall is SECOND on this team in tackles, second in Passes Defended, and is tied for the lead in Interceptions.

He's fine.

stats for a CB doesn't always mean solid play.....

I think Marhshall is the 3rd best CB right now in Carolina. As good as Belichick is.....I think we will hear and see a lot of Marshall and Godfrey this week.

It amazes me that Wes Welker can still play football, let alone walk. Does anyone else remember Thomas Davis jacking him up in a preseason game about 4 years ago when Welker played for the Dolphins? That was one of the hardest hits I'd ever seen. He was going across the middle in the red zone and TD damn near took his head off. Welker is a tough dude.

My biggest problem with the cornerbacks isn't really any one individual.

What annoys me is that Fox still refuses to simply put his best corner (Gamble) on the other team's best receiver. Lining up the way they do essentially gives smart OCs chances to pick their matchups. That killed us last year in Arizona, and is still happening this season.

What Meeks thinks? Unknown. But we know that Fox prefers the "corner/right corner approach" and that still seems to be the rule :(

CJ Wilson on Antonio Bryant last week was a travesty.

The Jets generally stick Revis on the other team's best guy. Ditto the Raiders and Asomugha.

Not to say Gamble is in that league, mind you, but as our best corner he should be used on the other team's best receiver whenever possible.

It's one of my pet peeves with Fox.
