RE: Waiver wire pickups

I don't think it's been discussed, but I much prefer doing a FAAB system for the free agents versus the usual waiver wire.

FAAB is a system where each team in your league is given a certain amount of "budget" to spend on free agents. Instead of being the first team to claim a free agent off the waiver wire, you bid on them with your budget. The highest bidder wins, and the winning bid is deducted from your budget.

Usually $100 for the year.

That sounds like too much work. I like the waiver wire.  If your team sucks you should have first dubs if your team is 6-0 you shouldn't be able to just outbid someone for a breakout star when your team is already stacked

Too much work? Uh okay.  Just a suggestion. Not a deal breaker for me. Unless you have the waiver wire set up to do an inverse of the standings, the worst team doesn't necessarily get first shot.

I do have the wire to bet set up that way after week 3. before week 3 its inverse of draft order. if the majority is down ill do the budget but me personally id vote to just keep it as is.

also toldozer is paid we are 9/12 paid now.

All depends on if you know how to use FAAB or not. You can spend it all early on a breakout player or wait for a guy to show up late in the season that pushes you over the edge. FAAB requires skill and strategy. I love FAAB.

Are we still planning on finding out draft positions 1 hour before the draft begins? Personally I prefer to know at least a little bit before the draft to do some type of preparation.

I could do a randomizer on my own and post the results otherwise we would have to wait till 90 mins before.

We get to 12 yet?

@carpanfan96 was added and has said he will pay on Thursday, the other two that didn't pay I removed because I have not heard from them, that leaves us at 11/12 spots so If anyone wants to join just send me a DM. $20

Let’s just let it randomize 90 mins before. It will be more exciting

    • How they treated the Baker/Sam thing was a joke. He was used as a DE on the PS. He may not have been any good here had he really been given a chance to succeed, but that whole situation was a clusterfug. I don't blame him for wanting out of this Tepper led poo show.
    • Might be the only terms on which both sides could agree. Morgan probably wanted 3 years and Mays' agent probably pushed him for a prove-it deal. Immediately leaking the desire to test the market only furthers this notion.
    • I'm sure someone can look it up on this board, but back when we jettisoned Darnold, I'd tried to defend him saying that he was still a young QB with a high ceiling, he was just surrounded here with bad coaching and a poorly built team. I said he'd see a Super Bowl before we did.  And people just laughed.  Same folks who said Baker Mayfield sucked and was a washout. Same folks who live to slam Bryce. (And honestly, my decision on Bryce is still hanging out there, undecided, swaying from yes to no). I'm not saying I know a damned thing about raising up a QB, but I know that I'm not as clueless as some others. Some of these kids that come out as top draft picks get thrown into the fire on a badly built team, a desperate lower tier HC, OCs and QB coaches that are struggling to move up the ladder and an injured, mad fanbase that wants immediate results or it's to the chopping block with some kid that just had the temerity to do well in college football and then come to the podium when their name was called.
