No, I just haven't seen a single piece of evidence that even remotely says they had any actual impact on the decision.  Them going to the pro days and pictures of them hugging are the furthest thing from any proof.

You also have to remember that I'm not a Bryce fan, I never wanted to trade up and once we did, I was 100% in the Stroud camp up until our pick was announced.

I'm not trying to defend the pick, I hated it and I still do (but still desperately hope I'm wrong in the end), but I'm not going to just start blaming the Tepper's without even the slightest thread of evidence of them "forcing this pick on the staff who didn't want him."

Everyone keeps pointing to pictures of them hugging and saying "I think Tepper forced the pick" and saying "what owner goes to the pro days" but none of that is even the start of an inkling of him inserting himself into the decision, not one bit.

We picked the QB that most charts had as the top QB in the draft. Yes most of us including myself preferred Stroud, but most analysts had Young as QB1. It wasn’t some shocking reach when it was announced. Fitt and Reich have both said it was Young from the beginning. He is why they traded up and his interviews just confirmed what they thought 

Now a DL landing on our QB’s ankle (which there is footage of) caused an injury and we aren’t going to try to force a rookie QB to play through it. He will sit until the medical team clears him for play as stated over and over again. I know it’s nothing exciting but it’s what is happening.

I don't know, they've pretty much never had a legit top tier QB in their looooong franchise history. Probably not much they wouldn't give up to secure one and so far CJ has looked the part. No one would care that we're 0-3 of Bryce was playing like that. Then again, we wouldn't be 0-3 if that was the case.

If I was a Bears fan, I’d be ecstatic at the thought of two top-5 picks next year. Not sure they are any better than us at the moment, only they have hope in next year’s draft.

When you're talking about the face of a billion dollar business, that decision isn't being pushed without the owner. You said there wasn't a whisper of Tepper putting any influence into that. I'm calling BS. There's no way in hell I allow a man accused of 24 counts of sexual misconduct to be the face of my business, especially when every other owner is sitting quiet, without being heavily involved and influencing that decision. All this was happening before the settlement agreements. He was willing to do this without knowing what the outcome was going to be. Do you know what that would do to the image of this franchise and its value? I don't give a poo how good the meatballs are, no way Tepper is letting Rhule cost him potentially billions without being heavily involved in the decision making process.

Holy crap when hasn't Tepper been involved with the process? WTF are yall talking about. He is always in the room. Draft, scouting trips, meatballs. He doesn't look like a Jerry trying to be a GM but he sure is on hand anytime something goes down. That doesn't take away form the rest of the crew doing their thing. He is always there and crap always ends up the same seems to be the consistent things going on since he bought the team.

I think it's because size taken out of the equation, Young was the clear better prospect.

Coaches are arrogant who think they can solve a problem like a small QB by being smarter than everyone else.

Fans are afraid of injuries (particularly thanks to the rise of fantasy football) and thus couldn't get past the injury concerns.  I personally always said his size was the only reason I didn't want him, not even his height, just didn't think he was ever going to have a chance at staying healthy long term.

First of all, all the other teams weren't sitting quiet, there were multiple teams trying to trade for him.

Second, if it really was Tepper's call and he was the one forcing it, he'd have agreed to the fully guaranteed deal and made sure the deal got done.

I'm quite confident in saying the overwhelming majority of owners in this league are in all of those meetings as well.

I'm sure some owners aren't, like Ford in Detroit or McNair in Houston, I don't see the 70+ year old women who inherited the team when their husbands died to be in those rooms, but I guarantee someone else in the ownership family is, such as Cal McNair would be instead.

      Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you?       You do know the biggest military base in the US is located just an hour from Raleigh in Fort Bragg right? Military families are family oriented. A hour drive to games is nothing compared to traveling 3 hours to Charlotte.   Cmon man there is nothing happening in Western Carolina other than Charlotte. I only go west for outdoor activities and some nature/mountain views.

      Okay, who is coming. And how hard is it going to be to get tickets? I’m currently living in Germany a couple hours north of Munich. Happy to help facilitate a cheaper experience for help getting tickets lol.
