How many of these plays could Bryce make?

No QB ever has had Cam's swagger. This is what I'm talking about; people want Bryce to be Cam. He's not. He's not a similar personality type or a similar player type, and it has far too many people here seeing red.

nah, people don't want Bryce to be Cam.

People want a #1 overall QB we traded up for gave away fan favorites for.....to have the basic physical tools that are generally standard with QBs drafted in that manner.

Bryce doesn't have the arm to make a lot of NFL throws.  That's just a reality.  Especially in today's passing league.   They are off the table.  Too risky given he doesn't have the velocity.  And he is built like my middle schooler.  So he isn't going to be able to keep plays alive on occasion by breaking through contact that gets to him.  Bryce just isn't the standard of today's NFL.

Doesn't mean he can't be good.  Doesn't mean he doesn't have his own strengths.  But Bryce is limited physically in a way you generally don't see from top tier NFL prospects.   And that is tough to swallow.

In fairness, there isn’t exactly a Steve Smith to throw to for Bryce, and the Cam rookie year oline would like HOFers next to the current offensive line.

Gross, Wharton, Kalil was probably the best center to left side in Panther history.

Not saying they are the same type of player or same coaches or team mates yadda yadda..

When you trade up to get a QB he should at the LEAST give you some hope for the future. I don't wanna hear "ex QB struggled so it's ok" because to only have a qbr over Zach Wilson after reading headline after headline of

"Bryce Young’s exemplary processing skills show he’s the most NFL ready quarterback"

Where is it? There should be glimpses not preaching patience if you a baller you either got it or you don't. Were all of cams pockets clean his first game...heck no but he had a NFL arm and NFL body. Bryce has none of the above, this ain't Alabama where the talent discrepancy is obvious and it's showing now.

So all you Bryce Young patience preachers tell me, how many of these plays do you think he could make?

Anyone remember the last time we took the most NFL ready QB? The JIMMEHHHHH CLAAAWWWW-SOOONNNNNN

That ended well.

    • Lions were never going Freeling over Miller for the same reason we wouldn't have taken Miller had Freeling not been on the board. Miller is a career RT Lions have a hole at RT, we have a hole at LT. If we took Miller, it would have been for him to backup Moton until he retires and/or we release him, so the best case scenario is it would have been a wasted 1st round pick for at least 1, if not 2 years.  At least Freeling has a shot at playing this year without injury ahead of him, he absolutely can win the LT job if he earns it, but Miller would have never supplanted Moton this year unless he got hurt.
    • What up y’all. I like threads like this where we can stroll down memory lane. I remember the insane amount of site traffic pre-crash when we signed Keyshawn Johnson, 06 I believe. Raging about the Cowboys Christmas Eve loss in 05 (Peppers touched that FG attempt as sure as Cotchery caught it). When I found the huddle I basically had a first born baby, now I’ve got one in college and one in high school. Life comes at you fast, but the Panthers and the Huddle has been a steady constant in my life for many years.  Those who have been here, y’all are cool with me any time any where.    Cheers, genitals!
    • This is a weird post since it wasn’t like we got A’s across the board. We needed a QB and got a consensus top 2 player at that position. (I was pretty vocal that Stroud should’ve been the guy but…)  I think this draft we generally got better value. I’m not particularly optimistic on BY but another year in this offense playing with TMac he really needs to be a consistently average QB at a minimum
