Done and pinned.

Hockey is one of those things I don't hate, I just never got into. My best friend growing up was a huge canes fan and we went to the celebration parade when we won the Stanley cup, but I primarily went because of a girl who was a big canes fan at the time.

It didn't work out so I stopped following the team for reasons unrelated to hockey.

I also harbored some resentment that the icecaps got kicked out of town when the canes came to town. Ruined my birthday plans as a child since taking a group of friends to a game was no longer affordable.

But apparently we're a solid youngish team now? That's nice.

Youngish team that is more than solid they are the Cup Favorites

Sounds good. Wish I knew more about hockey and the players and the teams history like I do with the Panthers. Helps put context to where the team currently is and who and what to look for.

Corp players

Sebastion Aho-26 Point per game top line center

Andrei Svechnikov-23 top 10 winger

Jacob Slavin 29- best defensive Dman in the NHL

What are the lines looking like to start the season? I was able to watch just a bit of preseason but haven't been able to focus as much on lines. I was pleasantly surprised with Bunting's performance in the preseason from what I did see. Without a bonafide sniper we really need to keep increasing the secondary scoring. Hoping Necas can keep up his momentum from last year, Turbo can get back to being Turbo, Jarvis and KK keep coming along, and we finally get to see Drury start to break out.

Bunting - Aho - Jarvy

TT - KK - Necas

Martinook - Staal - Fasty

Lemieux - Drury - Noesen

Slavin - Burns

Skjei - Pesce

TDA - Orlov

Chatty

Andersen

Raanta.

We will either play with the above 4 forward lines or Drudy - Noesen + 7 D with chatty.

I'm ambitious but I'd set the Hurricanes over under win total at 58

I get a little apprehensive every year when they have to start the season with a monstrous road trip because of the damn fair. But, they're used to it now, so I shouldn't get so worked up over it.

I'm setting the line at 53.

Recently we've come away from it with all but 3 points last season and all all but two the year before.

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
