Why are you even following the Panthers if you think they’re just a brand when you’re not even from here?

No serious football fan would delude themselves with that Bill Parcells bullshit ass idea that people cheer for the jersey not the guys wearing them. Of course you move on if the player changes teams, but you never forget what they did while wearing your team’s jersey. When the players suck, everything sucks. You don’t see anyone in here right now bragging about our color scheme or the team’s market value.

I am from NC, I just don't live there anymore. And I cheer for the team that represents where I'm from. Not the players.

And you completely contradict yourself. By cheering for the Panthers regardless of who is on the roster, you are - by definition - not rooting for the players.

Not sold on Williams.

The turnovers and how long he holds the ball are big concerns. Huge concerns. He also has not played well against the few decent defenses he has faced. He's still a helluva prospect, don't get me wrong. But he's nowhere near a slam dunk and definitely not some generational type prosect.

I think he's boom or bust. He's either gonna be great or he's just not gonna translate at all. I don't see a whole lot of room for him just being decent. I struggle to see him as a Trevor Lawrence type. Disappointing for where he was picked and what he was hyped to be but still decent. Not great, not disastrous, just kind of a mid-level starter type.

Why are we even debating this.. This would never be allowed just by rules of the salary cap.

Andrew Brandt did a podcast talking about how dumb of an idea this is.. if you want to get into depth of that I suggest you listen to it.

I have not seen anyone actually "debating" it, more like talking about how asinine a request it even is.  Even before he tried to dismantle his draft stock over the last part of the season lol.  I think Beck from GA looks more the part than Williams.

Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal reports that the league has adopted a rule prohibiting the giving of equity in the franchise to players or other employees

Its apparently not allowed anyway.

    • I think starting this week you gotta work in Tremayne out there.   You don't got to bench XL but Tremayne just seems to be clearly a better WR at this stage (despite XL having the physical tools).   I think waiting on Coker is malpractice.
    • I don't like much about this team BUT WE ARE GONNA WIN THIS THING BABY LETS GOOOOOOO
    • I agree completely.  I’m not absolving XL of his errors and shortcomings, but week 2 was definitely less an issue with him as it was QB and coaching/scheme.     It’s becoming abundantly clear, not just with XL, but with everyone on the offense, our coaches are not crafting a game plan to play to their players’ strengths, but rather they’re creating a game plan and then trying to fit guys into it where each position is treating each player as interchangeable and they’re not.  The breakdown I watched also discussed how no one expected XL to be destroying people with his route running coming out - that would have to be refined.  So, the poo we’re seeing, we can’t really blame him for.  He has gotten open enough often, but the passes are often off-target.  And he would likely excel more as a guy who can threaten with the deep ball to take the top off the defense, but we don’t have a QB that can throw that pass.
