Which, in Nguyen's analysis, means overpaying for him not once but twice.

Would it be overpaying to trade a second round pick for Brian Burns? Respectfully, I completely disagree with his assessment here. We would be crucified for trading Burns away for a second. This guy has more sacks than Burns this year and doesn't have the same hole Burns has in his game of being one of the worst edge defenders against the run in the NFL. Like, dude is a complete player.

The Bears trading a 2nd for Sweat definitely isn't overpaying. I honestly thought the Commanders probably should've traded Young instead. He's been their version of Jaycee Horn. Good when available but rarely available. Young could've probably fetched them more on the trade market and he'll be more costly to re-sign to boot.

What surprises me is that the Bears were buyers on the market but I guess they are sitting pretty with draft capital right now.

This, Jamo or Jalen Johnson would be an excellent forward-thinking move. Probalby comes down to assets going out from Carolina, which will most likely be too expensive for us.

Still holding out hope that TMJ + 4th gets us a reuniting of Bryce and Jamo Williams.

Not a chance in hell. Lions would have zero motivation to do that. Like what is their motivation to move on and not keep developing him? Why would they be that desperate to give up a 2022 first rounder for a 4th round pick? Makes no sense.

If you were to ask a bunch of NFL GMs to evaluate the two, I kinda doubt you'd find many who'd put a higher value on Montez Sweat than Brian Burns, especially given the context of their situations.

    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
    • Dan's been talking about upgrading CB since beginning of free agency
    • I'm more of a Hornets fan than I am a Panthers fan, I've watched a ton of this franchise the last 20 years. I post all day on RealGM. Don't get your hopes up, this is setting us up for a 20 point loss to the Heat and a swift end to the season. Spoelstra has always solved us, the Heat have two bigs that we have no answers for, and Jaquez is a certified Hornets killer that always plays us like he has a grudge on us. The Hornets being a top 10 team all year and a top 5 team the last half of the year and then flat out missing the playoffs is incredibly on brand for this crappy, horrendous franchise. I would love to be proven wrong. But I've suffered enough to know this little scheme the team is pulling. We finished 2 games out of 6th and guaranteed playoffs, and we blew two games to the Pacers and Nets earlier in the season, when they weren't trying to win. It's just who we are, Hornets DNA
