C.J. Stroud: I don’t think Bryce Young is playing badly in any way, aspect, or form

0-7 says otherwise.

Yeah one is looking at his play through the eyes of a fellow professional QB at the highest level and the other is looking at it through the eyes of an upset fan who just wants a win.  It's all about perspective.

Wins and losses, to me, aren’t a QB stat anyway. You can ball out and lose or some games you can play like trash and win.

Or he's just coming to the defence of his close friend.

I'm no longer an upset fan - I'm genuinely rooting for us to go 0-17 because I think it'd be hilarious and entirely warranted.

Jimmy G is showing us your exact point.  On the Niners with an elite defense, running game, OL, and weapons he was winning a lot.  You take away some of those things like he is missing on the Raiders and wins don't come so easily.

He went into extra detail which isn't needed.  Rodgers also said Young looks the part, Cam also said something similar.

You can say you aren't upset about wins but the first response you had on here was our record and how it relates to our QB.

It's the most important position in professional sports. They have as big a hand in wins and losses as a starting pitcher in MLB - only they're on the mound every game.

And wins and losses are being viewed more and more as a pointless stat as time goes on. ERA is significantly more important. Giving up 10 runs a game but your team scoring 11 doesn’t make you a good pitcher. But your win-loss record would indicate you are.

Hence why in recent times people like deGrom have won Cy Young awards over pitcher with a bunch more wins than them.

Yes....IN THE PUBLIC.

Nah I agree with LG.  A shootout against your friend with you having the game winning drive would be perfect.  Strong competitors like strong competition.  They want to go against the best performing at their best and beat them.

I don't doubt he wants his very good friend to play well and thinks highly of him. Privately though I have to imagine Stroud and his family are taking some level of comfort in the fact the Panthers have been a complete mess and he avoided that. He should be highly motivated entering this game. We should as well. We better not lay another egg. We need Bryce Young looking like a #1 pick.

Thats the point. To think he actually feels sorry or remorse for whats going on here and bryce is delusional. These players all have that edge and want to show why teams shouldn't have passed on them. All that matters is his performance and getting his team. Who cares whats going on with the Bryce and panthers. That matters nothing once the game starts.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
