Given the situation of the Vikings (QB out for the year) can we and should we try and get something for the REDROCKET?

Bryce is our guy.  If we can get a 5th for Andy, I think it should be a no-brainer.  Better situation for Dalton, too.

Nah Bryce needs a vet he discuss the game  with and already has a relationship with Dalton. I don’t think we’re gonna consider moving him until the end of the year if not further .

He's already got that with Reich and McCown.

I don't understand the inclination to trade Dalton. He's a good, experienced backup that is mentoring Bryce through his first NFL season. Y'all would give that up for a 5th? And who would our backup be?

IMHO we have McCown to feel the veteran role.  We are in a good situation to recoup some much-needed draft capital with Dalton.  I think it would be foolish not to pursue.

If Bryce goes down, is it really going to matter for this season who the QB is?  I'd rather have the draft capital b/c Bryce is the long-term guy and we're not making a run this year.

I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree. IMO, a 5th isn't commensurate with the value Dalton brings to the team, especially with this FO doing the drafting.

Said it in the other thread, Dalton is too important to Bryce's development to trade away for a mid to late round pick.

However, if we can get KJ Osborn and a 4th for Dalton and TMJ, I'm all in on that trade.

I think most likely scenario if they go the trade route would be for Jacoby.  Howell is their starter, they're not contending so don't need to keep an experienced QB around in case he gets hurt, and they're in sell mode anyways.

    • It's still CJ by a wide margin.  BY has closed the gap, but the gap is still considerably large.  Let's not forget CJ was without basically ALL of his weapons in this last game against the Patriots, and I'm pretty sure he had an injury.  BY lost to that same Pats team by like 40 points.  In fairness, a good bit of that was due to the defense.  That said, BY was completely incapable of keeping us in the game.  Mistake free football does not always equal good football.  He still had a bad game.
    • Playing QB in this league is tough.  I can't hate on a man's work ethic without knowing exactly what it is.  From everything I've read about him, I seriously doubt his work ethic has dropped.  He had 2 concussions in 2 years, has his OL downgraded, got a different OC, and lost his best weapons due to injury in these short 2 years after his rookie year.  Throw that in with teams having more film on him and the drop-off makes sense.  Maybe he needs to change what he does in the offseason to adapt better, but I doubt he has an issues with work ethic.
