It's an organizational problem

I still think the football component is just a toy aspect for the billionaire and his wife.  It's their bonus fun. And they are enjoying themselves with their Madden-like management. They invested in a sports franchise to diversify and grow their wealth.  That was and is the reason they are here.  Which it has done in the short time he has owned the team.   In fact, it is mind boggling how good these investments are for the mega rich.  It makes that Frank/Rhule money flushed down the drain mere play money in reality.

At some point the abysmal failure has to either get old or get embarrassing or both. Surely failing this miserably has to stop being fun at some point.

It is amazing how one person can create such controversy that extends into at least 2 states and impacts millions of people. And yet this person is completely oblivious that he is the problem causing the controversy. If he left the Carolina’s and the Panthers millions would cheer and celebrate.

fuging yes dude, the whole "we are one move away" has plagued us since he took over. In fact if he had just been patient and sucked ass our very first year with Rhule we would have ended up with Trevor Lawrence

At this point this team needs a complete rebuild outside of

definite keepers: 95, 49, 72

either sign him or trade him: 0

needs more time: 9, 8, 79, 15

And that's pretty much it, every other position could be argued that it needs to be either upgraded or at minimum needs quality depth

I would focus heavily on building up the offensive line this offseason as well as the WR corps.

But most importantly, above all else, we will never be succesful much less even mediocre if David Tepper continues to meddle. No one can do their job effectively with a boss breathing down their neck making asinine and ridiculous suggestions. No one will want to come here to work for him.

The issue is I don't see this happening

We are in fact one move away. When the for sale sign goes up, Dave finally made the right move.

We’re beating a dead horse at this point. We know it’s Tepper. It starts at the top. Every year he has been the owner the team has gotten worse with the lone exception being Steve Wilks’s short tenure. We’d all be better served spending our time focused on something more productive on Sundays.

You assume he would have actually allowed the drafting of Lawrence, he would have waited until the last week and then forced Mac Jones.

Our best runs of "success" under Tepper was his first year of ownership when he said he would focus on the business side of the house in year one before "putting his stamp" on the football side of the house and Wilks' interim run when Tepper had likely written off the current season and was simply focusing on the future. He should realize that the less he meddles in the present time the better the results are on the field.

How would he react if a football coach or football front office person came strutting into his office telling him all about how they'd run a hedge fund? He'd laugh in their face and tell them to GTFO and stay in their lane which is exactly what he needs to tell himself on football matters.

Our last coach openly talked about the weekly meetings with Tepper and how Tepper is a very involved owner before being fired. Tepper's influence on personnel decisions and meddling down to the level of individual play calls is widely rumored at this point.

Hasn’t the weekly meeting been a thing since he got here?
Rivera and Rhule both said they would have weekly meetings.
I don’t know why people are making a big deal out of this.
I am very certain other teams HC have weekly meetings. We are not unique.

    • I mean in this economy, companies have to be smarter with their spending. Sending reporters to Charlotte to cover a moribund, Pop Warner-level franchise is the ultimate waste of money that should get execs fired. If the media were being kept out, they'd report that--it's the most self-important profession in the world. Even for the locals who know "Panthers suck yet again" stories get them no clicks. Bottom line, no conspiracy here. They're just not worth covering.
    • why cant they just let teams have their kicker kick it and then run off the field? Thats the only thing he can do and he also cant recover an onside. The kicking team will have 12 men to start, including the kicker, and then he runs off.  the new rule seems complicated. Not sure if Im going to like it or not. If they wanted more returns, they shouldve just gone back to the old way.
