If they start pelting Raanta, Trip is coming out of the booth. I'd rather see that.

I hope Canes score first goal, especially with Raanta playing.

If preds score first goal I’m putting @Panthers Fan 69 on suicide watch lol.

Also, when you invest the amount of time and money that @Anybodyhomeand I have into tickets…you just want a darn cup win sooooo bad.

It was April 2019. The Canes were in the playoffs again and my wife and I had spent the morning at the fairgrounds for the annual GoodGuys car show. After we were done walking, we decided to head over to the Carolina Ale House for the Canes @ Islanders Game 2 watch party.

We got a couple beers, order some food and watched the game. At some point, a young lady approached my wife and asked her if I served in the Navy (I had a Navy hat on). She said, "yes, he retired in 1993 after serving 20 years." Mind you, I met and married my wife after I retired.  Anyway, this person got our home phone and information and the next thing you know, we have seats for Game 4 at PNC and I get introduced as (they called it back then) Fearless Hero of the game. It was pretty special. I was just a guy watching the game and they went out of their way to take care of us. Not to mention the Canes swept that series, it was a resounding win, which made it more special.

We had just sold our PSL to the Panthers a couple years before, I love hockey and my wife got hooked after 1 game in PNC. We weren't attached to anything sports at that time and we were getting single game tickets every now and then. Not just because of this thing they did for us, but seeing the team built the way it is and knowing they'll be a perennial contender makes it much easier to get those season tickets every year.

This is a fantastic story. Love it! ESP coming from a Navy family myself.

The last 10 years have been esp hard for me. Not trying to get sappy but the things that have got me through were sports. So winning just feels so good. It makes me feel like the other stuff didn’t matter. So winning is everything. I hate losing more than anything. So I do get riled up a good bit but it’s all in good fun. Win or lose I still love my canes…even though it’s drives me crazy. Ok rant over. Let Fu king go canes!!

Most commentators I’ve heard think svech is 4-6 weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s longer though.

Also Rod did not tip his hat on the goalie. I’m almost wondering if they are going to send Pyotr out there again even though it’s a back to back. Walt’s bet is Raanta though.
