That was the work of a franchise QB and a guy worthy of a #1 pick.  Incredible drive for any QB, let alone a maligned, rookie QB backed up against the wind and in the worst weather conditions imaginable against a talented Falcons secondary.

Unlike the litany of people on this board who want so badly to crucify this kid & ignore the almost comical level of dysfunction he has had to deal with this year, I'm not crowning him by any means.

It is still 100% valid & fair to say it was a mistake to trade up for Bryce.  I will never argue against that; I just vehemently disagree with the assertion that any other QB would have been justified for us trading up for given how unbelievably inept everything else has been this year.

We are stuck with Bryce for at least next year, and I'm neither a masochist nor a Bryce hater, so I am incredibly excited by this drive.

5/5 for 68 yards is objectively good for any drive, and almost impossible in the weather conditions out there.

Hope he can continue to build on this in hopefully better weather next week.

As a Bama grad, I’m a Bryce fan, and I hope he figures this thing out. I was pleased with that last drive. However, I still want to see more out of his passes. The ~20 yarder to Tremble to get off the goal line took forever to get to him, and the pass to Minot was just a wounded duck with a nice adjustment (granted, the rain may have caused the ball to come out funny).

I do hope Bryce and the team can build in this.

It was pouring with 30 miles wind gusts.  The Falcons didn't even want Ridder to throw at all after his braindead pick...  It wasn't a situation where you want your QB to have to throw in, especially backed up.

It was as bad of conditions as I've seen at BOA stadium.  There's only been a few games that were even close to this one... basically a tropical depression sitting over the stadium the whole game.

That's really the takeaway for the team.  It certainly was as ugly a game as you can have offensively before the final drive, but this was the epitome of extreme weather conditions today.

The previous monsoon game in 2011 was an UGLY win also.  That's all you can hope for in this environment.

I was not aware of the wind. I currently live in Korea and woke up (14 hours ahead of EST) to only catch the last 10 minutes of the game. Definitely saw the rain in the broadcast but didn’t see or hear anything about the wind.

This has been an awful season, but both game winning drives by Bryce have been something to build on.

People can hate on him all they want, but if you want to believe he's not tough as hell mentally & physically you're just a miserable person.

I don't know that he will ever become the guy we want him to be, but anyone not giving him his flowers today for persevering all day in those conditions & with the normal drops and penalty nonsense & still being able to be at his best at the end was remarkable.

I was honestly thinking more Delhomme-esque than Cam.  Delhomme could be mediocre all game and come through clutch as hell at the end.

It was a very solid game winning drive that should boost some confidence.  

Packers aren't world beaters.  Have some games to build momentum.  

Defense was incredible today.  Brown and Luvu played their brains out.  Bryce managed the game mistake free and made some solid throws in key moments.  

Positives today.  No TDs, but positives nonetheless.

Bryce does have some positives this year.  Couple of game winning drives, and his passes in the mid range (15-30 yards) are mostly good.  Also, he has decent mobility and hasn't thrown a lot of picks.  Only 1 in the last four games, I think.  But we still have a lot of questions about whether he will eventually be a NFL qb.

      He was saying Ron hid when he was cut/traded whatever that was.  I get being resentful, and feeling like that was gutless.  He, and Ron, neither are from the ‘breaking up with someone in a text or email is okay’ generation. That avoidance is seen as a lack of character.  Talking about it on camera how many years later? Why? And it is all one sided he said she said stuff. As he is speaking I am thinking well I bet that ain’t the whole story.    Between this type of stuff and him cheating on the wife stuff some of his shine is wearing off.

      I was very critical of Ron Rivera as a coach for a range of reasons. But Steve Smith has been playing the victim for years now and it's just not working anymore. We know for a fact that he was disgruntled from the moment we drafted Cam Newton because of his own ego. That says more about him than anything he could say about Rivera. And yes Ron Rivera had a lot of faults. No excuses for it. We were right to move on from him. But ultimately Steve Smith couldn't hold it together with that group the same as he struggled to hold it together under previous regimes. He needs to grow up and accept his own role in the last few years of his Panthers career because there are things he could and should have done differently the same as anyone else. Stop seeking to only shift blame to everyone else and evolve or just stop talking and fade away. This isn't helping anyone and it is certainly not helping his image.

      A friend of mine was involved in building Steve Smith's house and nearly came to blows with him during the process.  Love Smitty as a player, but I've heard very little good about him as a human being.
