An actual compliment for Bryce Young... the kid can take a hit

Joking aside this does give me hope. His durability was a HUGE question coming into the season and he passed that test with flying colors.

im holding out hope that his issues are 100% coaching and if we find someone to teach him how to be an nfl qb he can become a field general.

his arm strength looks horrible. But someone that knows exactly where to go with the ball can be fine without having a cannon.

In the off-season they need to work on his footwork and get him some actual play makers. I think they can mask his weak arm... But only with the right coaching staff

He's shown one major attribute that might set him apart his durability is what we're hanging out hat on right now. If he can manage to gain arm strength he's shown he can withstand A Vigorous Beating. And let me Loudly I applaud that and it's a starting point. The best ability is Availability besides that his arm strength scares me but hopefully that'll improve with a off season of training like rampart training all summer no days off.

His downfall has been his processor isn’t what they claimed, his arm is weak and he is not real fast although his elusiveness has improved lately.

Add the height and tippy toe stuff? That is probably the worst thing about him. Let’s see somebody fix that. Seriously. I don’t think it can be changed.

He fortunately recovered his no ball security again fumble. And was squashed. So, durable!

He can work to improve his overall strength including arm strength.  I have said I am not going to judge him on this season because of all the injuries, an offense that has little talent (some of them have big hearts), and most importantly an offense designed to make the offensive line look as bad as possible....we do not have O-linemen that are a fit for this zone blocking system.  With all the injuries we can't even move guys like Ekwonu to guard where he should be in this system.

BY can make the throws he needs to and will look better if Tepper and Company hire the right Head Coach and offensive staff.  Then it's time to build through the draft and FA to give him some help.

Also, having an effective running game helps too.  The opposing D can't just keep dialing up pressure every play.  It was an ugly win today, but the running game is a big reason we won.

    • Valid points.  This article to me explained why they might take the chance with 2 proven veteran Guards and focus limited resources elsewhere.  If you sign a free agent, you spend $10m more than you are paying Corbett and Christensen.  If you draft a C, you have a rookie QB on the LOS in front of Bryce.  Maybe this is their only practical option, since there were many other needs that could not be staffed by currently rostered vets or rookies.  For example, they wanted a "type" at RB.  I said it before--if you look at RB and say, "Chuba had 900 yards behind a bad line!" that would be a great point.  However, he was very weak as a pass catcher and pass blocker when he arrived--he has shown promise as a pass catcher and some growth as a pass blocker.  In 2023, one site rated him the 25th best overall RB in the NFL among the top 72 "starters."  https://www.nfl.com/news/rb-index-ranking-all-72-starting-running-backs-from-the-2023-nfl-season Brooks is elite at Running, receiving, and is good at blocking.  We are better, and the pass catching with his YAC keeps defenses more honest that Chuba did.  How many sacks came after Chuba missed his block?  I dunno, but I saw it more than a few times.  We could not bring in a TE to find a weapon for Bryce.  We had to draft one.  So we had to draft WR, RB, and TE because we had no real options.  So if you look at the big picture, based on the information in the article as foundational knowledge of the C position, the fact that Corbett has never played center is not as important as his ability to play it.  But yes, it is not a given and it is risky--but it is one of the few positions we could upgrade (since we signed 2 stud Gs) with players already on the roster.  It is not ideal, but rebuilding a team with so many holes is impossible in one offseason.  When you laid out the options at every position and looked at the available cap room, this is probably the best option for the Panthers so they can address other needs where there are no options on the roster.
    • Yeah, I'm with you here. Nothing is 100% but so far I've been impressed by our new leaders. I thought the draft moves were great. I can't believe we got a 2nd next season and still got our targets with our first 2 picks. That was badass. Morgan is a dawg too. We can't forget that. Just look at those eyes. Morgan is intense.
