it really speaks volumes to me about what type of GM Scott Fitterer is whenever you see the owner pick up the phone in the draft war room & call a former player & ask him instead of the GM who we should take in the 2nd round ...just saying

Not to bag on tepper or fitterererer. The stuff Ive seen mingo was the only player leftd on their big board with a high ranking. Calling smitty, whos been brilliant about draft WRs was to re-firm their beliefs.

I dont follow the draft like past years, only thing a heard about mingo was he became ultra hot two weeks before draft day. Just jumped into the late 1st talks after having 4th round early projections.

Fitz said somewhere they wanted one of the 2 OGs that went just before panthers pick. @Verge did you hear the same??

Yeah I remember hearing that as well. Likely Avila or Bergeron at OG.

If memory serves me right, word was they had their eye on Nolan Smith too.

And they mentioned they had an edge on their list that was taken early (McDonald was my guess)

Their big boards were still very flawed if they had Mingo as best available.

D+ is WAY too kind. There's never been a clearer F after one year that I can ever recall. This looks like the 2011 draft class but with Bryce Young instead of Cam Newton.

With the trades it's lower than F. They need to make up a way to grade an F to explain how bad that draft was.

The one Atlanta ended up taking iirc. Though I'm not sure they would have taken him over Mingo still.

The DJJ pick right before Diaby went off the board reminds me of when Hurney grabbed Edmund Kugbila and gifted GB Dave Bakhtiari with the very next pick.

Ya ya was on my radar. Had a good combine. Which we all knew he was a workout warrior but nothing bout DJ said trade up worthy.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
