season is over, are there ANY bryce believers left on this board?

He seems like a nice guy but unfortunately that does not win games or totally make a successful QB. He has I believe one solid game this season where he threw two TD passes a few games ago and that's about it. I saw nothing that would make me think first overall pick. He needs a good coach and some help on offense including a better line but if it's the same thing next season then it's time to give up and move on. He better make HUGE strides in the offseason as every first and second round QB showed more flashes than him. I dare say he is probably closer to the bottom of all rookie QB's this season in terms of what he did and showed. Maybe not the absolute bottom but I feel like he was definitely down near the bottom. It's pretty disappointing but he either has to make MAJOR strides next season or he needs to go simple as that.

Oh dude, he was definitely at the very bottom. He was worse than 32. Backups performed better than he did.

Major strides for him at this point would be not being the fuging worst QB in all of the NFL. He is not even a backup level QB at this point.

I believe he showed flashes. I understand the NFL is about consistency and ultimately flashes don’t mean anything, but it certainly gives me hope.

I would ask do you really think we got a fair assessment of what Bryce can be given his support/coaches/FO/ownership. I think that answer is unequivocally no.

So it’s not so much believing Bryce will be a franchise QB, I don’t know, I just know he hasn’t been given the best opportunity to do that. Therefore, it’s an incomplete assessment.

My take is that the circumstances have been really bad, that aside I don’t think Bryce has shown more flashes that any random backup would have done in the same position, and that is why I’m significantly down in the viability of Bryce as a starter in this league.

We can argue about the flashes thing until we are blue in the face. A lot of that is subjective and probably based on pre-conceived notions of what you or I thought about Bryce from the jump (if not you or I, for most). But we do agree on the bad circumstances. It’s unlikely next year will be worse. You have to think he will have at least some better weapons and support. He will also have a year of really hard NFL experience under his belt. So in all likelihood he will have a better year. The question is how good? Is it a he is a franchise QB level, an above average QB, average, etc. I think how well he does will point the arrow on who he will be in his career. So ultimately that’s why any true judgment on him this year is unfair.

He’s special ed pre-snap, and completely lobotomized during the play. Next year will be no better roster wise, unless they can sign a Calvin Ridley or Mike Evans and an OL. But every team needs that so all that’s left will be scraps. Bryce needs to turn sack plays into 3-5 yard scrambles instead of waiting for trash wr’s who won’t be open unless it’s a broken play

How good? He blows us out of the water. He had 5 games with over 200 yards passing, going over 250 only once with 312 yards against GB.

Next season he does it 6 times with 2 games over 250!

Cause his play isn’t as bad as some of you are making it out to be.

Please tell us all how passing for less than 200 yards 11 times in the modern NFL is "not bad" QB play. It sure as hell isnt good QB play.

With the amount of 150 yards games you would think he was playing NFL in the 50s.

I watched the majority of his snaps this season, I am guessing half of you didnt. Nothing about his game this year gives me even a tiny bit of hope that he turns it around. I am looking forward to how high of a pick he can get us in the 2025 draft.

I agree.. If he can survive this year and look better next year we might have something..

Question for those who believe in Bryce (and good for you to stay positive, I just can’t): Is your hope based on anything you saw Bryce do this season or solely based on kind of blind hope that he will be good with the right support?

I don't necessarily believe in Bryce.

But I do like his ability to escape the pocket once he decides to go, and his ability to make guys miss in the open field.

He prefers to pass with anticipation, but he wasn't on the same page as his receivers most of the season, so that doesn't work.

The one game (really 2-3 quarters) when he got NFL average protection and receiver play (meaning they caught the catchable passes - still no YAC), he looked fairly good. Amazing how is arm strength suddenly wasn't an issue when 300 pounds men wasn't in his lap all game.

Go get Ben Johnson. Increase Marsette's role in the passing game, draft a 3rd round WR with speed and route running ability, and go get a #1 receiver in FA. Find a few serviceable average starter level interior linemen in the draft and FA, and give Bryce a chance to sink or swim. He'll decide his own fate.
