He shouldn’t be considered a dark horse though. He and Ben Johnson are THE hot shot coordinators. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t get at least one HC offer. He’ll interview everywhere

I’m talking about for us. In this era of listing over a young OC he’s my sleeper pick

Panthers blocked Jaguars request to interview Evero for DC.

Apparently Carolina plans to interview Evero for the HC vacancy.

if we decide not to keep him at DC couldn't we try to trade him to the Jags or elsewhere since he's under contract as DC? Couldn't block him getting a promotion to HC but could get something out of him going elsewhere as a DC

I don’t think so but maybe. Trading coaches is very sticky and why the Titans just decided to let Vrabel go instead of spending weeks making it work. I think it has something to do with they have to accept their new contract with the team they are being traded to or it’s voided. (I think)

And who would that we be,Tepper? Why would they block him anyway? The man has earned his money here and if he's not in consideration for the HC then he has a right to seek employment wherever he wants. And would not blame him if he told Tepper to piss off.

I have heard teams will block interview requests on the part of the candidate if the candidate doesn't want to upset potential future employers...

It would be very shitty if he is being disallowed from interviewing while wanting to leave.  Forcing him to work with a new HC wouldn't be fair...

    • Those last two plays before the last FG, we could have burned them so hard - but it is risky with even a better QB. But not sure they would have used that strategy against a better QB.  In any case Rico had no hope of breaking through that.
    • One more win and it matches Wilks’ win total, he was the leader of the last 5-6 years. You have to go back to Tepper’s first year where Rivera won 7 to beat it. He won 5 the year he was fired.
    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
