Don't teams have to make that information public?  Don't think they can just interview a candidate on the low without anyone finding out, but I could be wrong.  Because they have to put the request in through the NFL anyway (not sure how that works with college coaches though).

People can see the interview requests for anyone who’s currently under contract in the NFL. If they are fired, or coaching elsewhere you won’t hear anything until after the interview.

Hopefully since there is a team of folks hired for our coaching search, there aren’t any moles in the operation, and we are interviewing more than we think.

But, you would think the hot (not physically) candidates would be spotted in the airport or around town. /shrugs/

Candidates employed by other teams cannot interview in person until January 22.

For what it's worth, ESPN made their predictions for the open jobs. Dan Graziano had us hiring Brian Callahan.

They predicted Johnson to the Commanders.

Not the worst outcome. Callahan's stock is a bit depressed since the Bengals missed the playoffs. Otherwise he checks a lot of the boxes: multi-year OC, young, history developing a young QB.

I'd want his dad along as OL coach at least, maybe even OC to start off.

kind of. you won't hear anything officially but Falcons fans had a pretty good idea from loose reports of "interest" that they'd interview both Belichick and Harbaugh and now they have announced those happened. Not hearing anything doesn't necessarily mean anything especially as it seems we are being extremely tight lipped (likely at the behest of the consulting firm), but if we were interested we could've heard of it by now.

For the record I'd be fine with Callahan, but it doesn't seem like these people have any concrete evidence linking us to him it's just a pure guess.

If he brings his dad to coach the o-line and Jake Browning to compete with Bryce, I’d be all in tbh.

In a digital age where Kellen Moore leads Vegas betting odds as our next HC the rumblings (or lack therefore of)of random people on the net does very little to move me when the only true indicator is a concrete notification that the interview went down. If it doesn’t happen it doesn’t happen, but basing interest on the “reporting” of people with anonymous sources does nothing for me.

    • This play was never designed to go to either DJ or Odunze. The primary read is Burden who is stymied early, with the outlet being Kmet if Caleb doesn't like the option for Burden. Given the situation it's pretty obvious the simple play is to take the free yards with Kmet, or if you want to be aggressive just wait a beat longer for Burden to uncover on his double move. If Moore was ever going to be a viable target in this play then Caleb should have started out reading Odunze to hold the safety in the middle and then coming to Moore, but because he started the snap staring down the right and then came back to the middle late it made it where the safety's leverage remained to the outside of Moore, so he would never have imagined that pass actually being thrown to him in that situation. Realistically DJ's best option in that context is to just occupy the safety to leave a hole open for Caleb to get it to Burden, which is probably why he throttles down vs carrying the safety across.
    • Even with Sonny Styles still on the board I thought it's a no brainer to address the Oline after Icky's injury.  And how can you pass up Fano at 19 given our situation. Then the rest of the draft just kind of made sense with maybe the exception of Klubnik.  But if Canales can fix him and Young goes down. . .I think it's a solid pick. What do you think of this draft?
