Prediction: Ben Johnson will turn down our 2nd interview request to become the HC of the Washington Commanders

Unfortunately I can see that happening. Love what Johnson could bring to this inept franchise, but just think he would see a brighter future at WSH; which it tbh, it is.

I fully expect Quinn to get the job and dumbass Tepper to come out and say he was the target all along.

On the home stretch... Unless we add a last minute interview.... What's everyone's guess for who gets a second interview???? Obviously Ben Johnson will be one.

Unsure how many they'll widdle it down to, but I don't really care to see Brian J, Morris, Monken or Quinn have a 2nd.  I will say, since we have a consultant, I wouldn't be surprised if Morris gets a 2nd as a guy to juxtapose the young ones to.  Tabor..I mean, that was obvi courtesy lol.  I will also say, I'm not riding the Frank Smith train for some reason.

Can also see Slowik bowing out early if they pull off an upset this weekend, so he may focus on building something special in HOU.

Otherwise, I'd hope Macdonald, Canales, Callahan (& maybe Evero) would be the lot.

Ben Johnson seems to be a foregone conclusion he's our HC or bust so he doesn't warrant much extra thought at this point haha.

I also think the slow down of the GM search has more to do with the HC search. Most reports say we want a HC first. Prioritizing that would make sense if it’s true. Now, the real argument is if that’s the right approach. My personal opinion is no, but I know it’s been done that way in some stops.

Btw, as I was researching Callahan, I saw a video from the Locked On Titans podcast that Callahan is having a second interview with the Titans... So Callahan to the Titans may be in play.

Me either, I thought he was going to turn down interviews.

The interesting thing with Slowik is that his current team did a lot of analysis on the QBs in last years draft. So he should be very familiar with Bryce. Not saying he likes or dislikes Bryce, but he knows more about him that most other coaches.

    • not sure if any of this is news, but a good summary of our situation heading into training camp.  It's sure gonna be good getting Derrick back. After missing virtually all of the 2024 season, Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown is aiming for a full return to the field during training camp later this summer, per Joseph Person of The Athletic. Brown tore his meniscus in Week 1 and underwent season-ending surgery that has kept him limited through spring practices, though he did participate in “walk-throughs and light side work” during mandatory minicamp, according to Person. Brown originally stated a desire to be ready for the 2025 regular season, but his timeline appears to have moved up. Brown’s injury was particularly disappointing after a career-best 2023 season. He led all defensive linemen with 103 total tackles and was named to his first Pro Bowl, earning him a four-year, $96MM extension from the Panthers in April 2024. While he has never been a prolific pass rusher, Brown’s size and power has consistently commanded double-teams and created opportunities for his teammates. His impact was evident last season, as Carolina’s run defense ranked dead-last in his absence. The Panthers spent significant resources this offseason on defensive line depth, which should allow them to manage Brown’s usage more carefully coming off a major injury. He played a whopping 940 defensive snaps in 2023 (89% of the team’s total) and was on the field for almost every play before his injury last year. With new teammates Tershawn Wharton, Bobby Brown III, and Cam Jackson ready to share the load, Derrick Brown can take a lower snap share to stay fresh and healthy for the entire season. • Yeah it's kind of like they don't want him on the team anymore for some reason
