right that man an absurd check when he walks in the door and tell him he can hire anyone he wants!!!

I would wager that interview has odds of going poorly given what Tepper likes.  Vrabal is the polar opposite of anything Tepper has been around.  An "a hole" some would say.

Little surprised they even got him to come in.

As much as everybody says it, Tepper is not an idiot.

He wants to win.   Tepper has to have made some self realizations to even interview Vrabel.

And from the way Person is saying it, Morgan is the liaison to the owner now so it won't be like it was  (we will see).

How early in the conversation do you think he's gonna ask if he'd be tied to Bryce Young? I mean, Vrabel is coming from a situation where he basically had a roster ready to compete for a championship minus a QB and ultimately got fired because he couldn't overcome that. Now the Titans go with an offensive minded guy to try to give Will Levis the best chance to develop.

Very early.  Clearly they need a coach who has a plan together to develop a QB  (Bryce or anybody).

Offensive scheme is probably the biggest unknown with Vrabel because he won't have Henry to lean on.

And if guys like Vrabel are interviewing here, I think everybody can still expect Ben Johnson or Slowik or whomever to interview if we request it.

The situation doesn't look great but I think inside NFL circles, it's still a hot commodity (because it's an NFL head coach opportunity)

For all I know this is a token Sportsology interview.  Proof is in the pudding and Tepper to date has shown no indication of being a net positive owner.  He is still front and center and it certainly looks like he enjoys stacking all decisions in his favor.  I would glad to be wrong.

Vrabel IMO is the best hire out there.

Yeah, I honestly fully expect us to go with an offensive minded head coach. Give Bryce his best chance this year and if it doesn't work out have an offensive mind in place to weigh in on the position and what we should do. Keep going all in on Bryce or move on? You have to get QB right. If we had a proven QB in place and were largely being held back by a floundering D I could absolutely see going with a defensive HC but we have the opposite situation.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
