Campen was reported to be one of the guys running to Tepper. It's also believed that Tabor was one, but no names have ever been confirmed from internal sources. Campen was mentioned by someone outside the team, though.

Brown wasn't. They'd never met.

He was reportedly added after an outside suggestion (possibly Tepper).

Was about to say the same thing.

A number of the guys on the offensive side are fairly or relatively new to their positions. McPherson has a lot of experience.

Hes either the best hire or 2nd, imo. As a whole I would put tilis above him, but offense-wise....goodwin maybe a bigger talent.

Apparently former player Daren Bates is going to join the coaching staff in some capacity. Was an assistant (low level) with the ST in Seattle last season I believe

I figured it was gonna take a minute for the confirmation.

It was confirmed by Brown's wife on social media (she later deleted) that someone had to remain on the offensive staff to finish out the season and that  Thomas, in fact, was already fired.  Call it a deferred firing, if you will.

I can easily picture Tepper making it clear through his tantrums that they were all just waiting for the axe to fall by the time Reich was out. If not weeks before.

Brown was screwed from jump because that was too big a job for a first timer.

I’d like to have been a fly on the wall after those first padded practices and the Jets scrimmages. It must have been like script writers realizing the producers hired actors who couldn’t pronounce half the words they needed to deliver the line. At the last run through.

Pat is a great hire.

We'll see. I saw a Greg Olsen interview where he talked about his one year at the Seahawks and him butting heads with the TE coach for trying to make him change Mr. 3K's techniques that got him 3K, so they gave him less reps in games. Jimmy Graham also went there for a big contract and was basically benched too. Doesn't seem like the TE position is really emphasized there. But we'll see, maybe that was Carrolls influence.

What do we know about Joe Gilbert?

Quote

Gilbert started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Albany back in 1987. He go on to make a number of stops throughout the college ranks—with runs at the University of Pennsylvania, Northeastern University, the University of Maine, Mansfield University, the University of Toledo, the University of Central Florida, the University of Houston and the University of Illinois.

His NFL coaching career kicked off in 2012, as the assistant offensive line coach for the Indianapolis Colts. He’d be promoted to offensive line coach in 2013, but bumped back down to assistant in 2016.

The Arizona Cardinals then came calling in 2018, hiring Gilbert as their offensive line coach and run game coordinator for one season.

He then moved on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he was the offensive line coach from 2019 to 2023.

Thanks for this. I am still holding out hope that Canales will hire a new Strength and Conditioning coach, especially given how much emphasis Canales makes on fitness in his own life, and was pursuing a degree in Kinesiology to be a personal trainer before coaching. Just seems like we've had the injury bug ever since Rhule hired Jeremy Scott, or at least way more than average than the rest of the league.
