2 things I’d love to see

Here are two things I’d love to see:

1) Trade our 33rd pick for Brandon Aiyuk and sign him to a long term contract.

2) Trade Burns for a 1 and 3 in this year’s draft.

Might be a stretch, but not that far fetched. 49ers would be able to find a very good replacement WR at a much lower cost with that pick. And it would give us an established #1 WR who meets Dan’s dog criteria.

That would be a home run offseason

EDGE players Danielle Hunter and Josh Allen are both UFA that will not cost teams any draft pick compensation to acquire. Trading Burns will be difficult, another team will have to pay him and give up picks. Tagging him would eat up $21 million of the teams current $30 million cap space. Letting him walk is the smartest play here.

If we end up letting him walk for a 3rd round comp pick after being offered 2 1sts and a high 2nd for him last year, it will be the most Panthers thing ever.

Huge Aiyuk fan and would love the fit here but I can't imagine 33 is going to do it.  AJ Brown went for 18 and 101 at a similar age and production 2 years ago.

I'd look for a smaller move for a trade/sign like a Diontae Johnson

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
