Perhaps the Panthers dodged a bullet. Jeudy traded to the Browns for a 5th and 6th round picks

His employer may have told him to apologize, but I seriously doubt they tell him how to analyze. America still has freedom of speech (for now).

You have the freedom of speech but you don't have the freedom of employment. They told him to dial it back and outside of the heat of the moment he complied. That's personal growth from Smitty.

But he was right.

Freedom of Speach has absolutely nothing to do with your employer.

All that's great, but let's stop acting like we know that Smitty was told to dial it back. We don't. Moreover, It was actually great for ratings. Smitty likely listened to some of his peers (like Keyshaun and Michael Irvin) who put something on his mind, and after thinking about it and analyzing the situation, Smitty changed his tune (and, yes, that is personal growth).

As far as whether he was right about what type of receiver Jeudy is, I'm going to take Smitty for his word: if he did more analysis and came to a more thoughtful conclusion, I'm going to take him for his word. He's not a bullshitter and never has been (job or not).

Every time I see an employee fired for some HR violating "free speech" I always laugh.

All they had to do was wait until they were outside the company premises(and not actively representing the company) and they can say the most wild and offensive poo on the planet with little repercussion(minus social media).

But you thought free speech had anything to do with your employer. And clearly read absolutely nothing of the employment agreements you signed nor any HR policy.

In the end, the trash usually takes itself out.
