Someone needs to tell the NFL that Justin Fields and Sam Howell are first ballot hall of famers. (according to carolinahuddle.com)

Nobody is saying that.

Meanwhile, they get traded for peanuts while both have shown more promise than the guy we've mortgaged the franchise on. That's them hard to swallow pills.

Brutal. Especially if you include the CMC/Burns trades and the new guard/wr additions. Willing to gut your good defense just to see if this little guy can be a decent game manager lol. Hopefully if he's not they'll bench his ass and throw Dalton out there so we can watch actual competitive NFL football

meanwhile we need a d that keeps teams to under 13 points for us to have a chance. lol

All Burns talk aside it's easy to see why the defense finally got fed up with the historically pitiful offense led by Bryce Young. We were 32 out of 32 in offensive yards per game for the season and 32 out of 32 in total passing yards.

I'm still waiting to see anything about Bryce working with his receivers in his own time over these last few months. Seems like that would be pretty important to him given the excuses we kept hearing about a supposed lack of chemistry.

You definitely really see it wear on a unit when the unit on the other side of the ball simply can't hold up their end of the bargain. Whether it's a defense carrying an offense or vice versa. Eventually the carrying unit is just like... "Damn, no matter what we do these clowns on the other side of the ball are gonna find a way to fuging lose the game."

Yes, Burns was in an impossible situation. To be a pass rush specialist and always playing from behind is a recipe for a terrible season.

Seahawks actually have legit weapons on offense. They seem to be trying to patch up the QB position.

I would have traded for Fields.

If Sam gets in a stable organization, he is going to play much better than the mess in Washington.  Washington is obviously selecting a QB so moving Howell was a smart move. IMO Howell will prove he's an NFL starting QB.

Having a mediocre qb sets your franchise further back than having a bad one.

What if you traded a boatload of assets to get the bad one?

We're basically left hoping our guy can get to mediocrity.

Nah.  If he sucks the same this year then we have the first pick next year to spend on a qb.  If he is mediocre this year we dont have the first overall pick and we still have no idea what we are doing at qb.  Crying over the past is getting a little old now.  After the 2nd next year all of that will be in the past.  It does no good to focus on that anymore.

What's also in the past though? DJ Moore's tenure as a Panthers and the opportunity cost of the picks we gave up to get to #1 and who we passed on to take Bryce. This is shaping up to be the most disastrous move in franchise history.

The whole roster is close to turning over.  The old HC and GM are gone.  Now we see if Bryce is good enough or not.  If he isn't he will lead us to his own replacement.  No one can change what has already happened.

I agree. But it's not the past yet. We're still in this poo right now. We won't be out until Bryce sinks or swims.

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
