Did Scott Fitterer draft any good players?

I still think those first two years fall on rhule, but his 1st year at the wheel was nothing short of terrible results for both draft and FA players.

20/20 and allll, but I think tepper should have hired a former GM instead of a rookie one.

No need to keep blaming Rhule for 2022. The 2022 draft was all Fitterer. Rhule was fired early in the season and was forced to change coordinators. We had tons of threads in here from some of our top posters about how Fitterer had taken the off-season reigns. Rhule isn’t going to be in charge of a draft while on the hot seat and this forum posted articles saying that. Fitterer trade ups in 2022/2023 were almost identical and Rhule isn’t sitting on the hot seat with Corral as his guy. I’m sure he asked for Mayfield.

He's been dealing with some life issues and probably doesn't want to continue to be berated about his outspoken support of Scott Fitterer over the years. Now on the one hand I say at some point we have to let him move on from his mistake. On the other hand though many here know how condescending he could get toward anyone that challenged him on the subject. Funny enough on the subject of David Tepper he used to tell me personally I was being paranoid and engaging in conspiracy theories because I felt Tepper was involving himself too much in team personnel matters. Well look where we are now and look what we know now. Mr. Scot has previously and still can bring good content here. But if he wants to move on from his position on Fitterer he needs to just admit even the man who he used to badmouth on a regular basis for being an awful GM (Marty Hurney) is and was significantly better. At least he could hit in the first damn round!

He had great content and was a logical dude but not sure why he was infatuated with Fitt. He was shockingly bad and I don't think he'll land another job in the NFL...Old numbnuts Dave got burned again trying to fast track success with out due diligence...

IMO, most likely not. We will see what we are able to do but I don't see a winning season for a while.

Hopefully the roster would be built up enough where it could be like an Alex Smith/Chiefs situation where it’s time to draft the Bryce replacement because the game manager isn’t taking us past the first round of the playoffs

Horn is elite when healthy and was the right pick. He’s better than Surtain and the injuries couldn’t be predicted. Ickey is really good, one down year in a clusterfug of bad coaching and Mr. No Pocket Presence doesn’t change that. I’m confident he’ll get back on track. Christiansen and Chuba are decent.

Hard to have pocket presence when your o-line has more holes in it than a strip club at closing time.

Building the way KC built would be music to my ears even without a Pat Mahomes at the end of that tunnel.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
